Years ago they used to make little plastic balls that you poured scent into and then flung them from your stand with a slingshot. Never really caught on.

I saw 10 deer this morning all between 8&9 am. Only one buck though.

We've had the opposite results where I hunt. The past 5 days have seen ALOT more buck activity with a few of them being big bucks. The bigger bucks seem to be sticking to the thick cover though. I had a big 8 point at 32 yards broadside yesterday afternoon. I thought he was gonna come closer so I waited on the shot and he turned around and walked back into the thick stuff when he was done eating apples. From now on, I take the first good shot I get!

Shot this doe Thursday morning. My first time down to hunting camp this year. Took out her heart and she still went 200 yards!

I've always went by the idea that the more time you spend in the woods the better your chances of shooting a deer. Call me crazy?

I must have missed that one. Guys don't believe in hunting bedding areas? Its probably been my most successful tactic the past 20 years.

I will not sit in another hunters stand or mess with it. If I come across another stand while scouting I look elsewhere. Plenty of public land where I hunt. I don't need to have breakfast in the treestand with another hunter.

Yep, hunt them at night! JK. Get as close to the bedding area as you dare. This is where you'll most likely see them during shooting hours

Pointing out the obvious is hardly taking shots at a kid and I'm sure I know more about archery than you. Seems like all you like to do is argue with people.

Ya, I berated him.You're such a tool! You're the one that jumped all over me because I suggested he was using the wrong spined arrow. Guess what, he missed one deer and wounded another already this season. Maybe I was correct all along. People like you are whats wrong with hunting, know it alls that really don't know crap!

They're forecasting a high of 72 on both Saturday and Sunday in central NY. Plus its the youth weekend and I hunt public land. Probably a good weekend to get some things done around the house for me!

I've tried it with no luck, but my brother has been successful twice doing it. Both deer were shot right around noon, one a big eight point and the other a 10 point. They were chasing does during the first week of November. And this was on public land too!

If I were you I'd hang a stand 20 yards downwind of that scrape and hope he steps out in the field again. If he does, grunt at him and see if he does the same thing. If he does, stick him! Just make sure not to sit where your scent is blowing towards the bedding area you expect him to come from.

That is awesome customer service!! I'll have to remember that the next time I purchase a stand. Do they make ladder stands? I have a friend who is in the Archery industry and he told me that for a treestand to get a TMA rating of 300#'s it needs to be able to hold a static weight of 1000#'s. You may have used the stand wrong but it shoulda still held you up! -

The shops around here all suck! Hopefully you wont get one of the kids to work on your bow. The couple times I've been there everyone looked like they were higher than a kite!
