  1. I've gotten several pics of him weekly for 4-6 weeks now, but none during daylight. Seems like no matter where I move my cams to, he shows up.
  2. Dead here.... I hate full moons. Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  3. Just whip it out and pee in it. That's it for scent anyways. Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  4. Only saw a lonely fawn wandering around this morning. I got pics of 2 bucks harassing/dogging a doe 2 nights ago ~200 yards from where I saw this fawn. Just assuming momma's "out for servicing"...
  5. Probably not. If you put them in a high traffic area, they'll usually attract attention soon after making. I found a huge rub earlier this week. I had to take a whizz anyways, so I made a scrape ~3 yards from the rub. I also set up a cam and got a video of a good buck come by to check it out ~10hrs after I made it. (Video, so click on image)
  6. The bucks have been tearing the scrapes up in the past week!
  7. That's an existing limb off the crabapple tree. All I did was cut twigs and leaves off of it to make it look more appealing. I tear up a mock scrape under it every year and whiz in it every couple of days, until the bucks start maintaining it. It's exactly 25 yards from a stand.
  8. Got a video of a new 8pt in the area giving my mock scrape some love last night.
  9. Proud moments! LOL You'll have a hunting partner before ya know it! Last Saturday, I took my daughter to camp practice with her crossbow. I just stood back and smiled watching her. Later that night, she was crowned homecoming queen! They can be daddy's girl, hunters, AND "girly-girls"! LOL
  10. I make my own scrape "juice". Does that count?
  11. I've had pics of this guy all over at every cam. I made a mock scrape yesterday and this guy found it last night. Got a pretty good video of him. BTW, yeah the scrape looks pretty "wet". I normally don't leave quite so much scent, but I REALLY had to go!!
  12. I started a few mock scrapes in mid-Sept and they've gotten attention. I found a few half-assed scrapes over the past week. While out checking cams today, I passed by several spots that historically have scrapes. They were all torn up! Out of curiosity, I took a walk into my small fields (old foodplots) and looked at a few tree limbs that I purposely left there during my final mowing of the summer, to either entice bucks to make a scrape under or for me to start mock scrapes. Every one of them have a torn up scrape under! I walked my ATV paths and every limb that I left hanging in the path have a scrape also! They are tearing them up!
  13. Funny this topic should come up today. Just today, a friend texted me a pic of a doe that he shot this morning in PA. He waited and found it 90min after he shot it! THIS is what he found!! Either coyotes or a bear found it before he did! He was sick about it! Another friend of mine in PA shot his first deer with a bow. Within minutes he heard crashing where his doe fell. A bear grabbed the dead doe by the neck and started dragging it away, right past him!!
  14. Hope ya got some good narcotics for the pain! Dude, just sit back and enjoy the ride....
  15. So that's suppose to help snoring too, huh? Interesting... Let me know how it goes!
  16. Been finding a lot more rubs than I usually see on the property this year. Found the biggest and most aggressive of the year so far today. It's getting about that time! Looks like this buck left me $20 for the property damage!
  17. I was at camp today doing some little jobs working off the picnic table. A squirrel was hopping around getting hickory nuts in the yard. It kept cautiously getting closer and closer, keeping a close eye on me at all times, not knowing if it should "trust me". It got as close as ~10'. I headed out into the woods to check cams. When I returned, I found a hulled hickory nut laying on my jacket on the picnic table! It was like the squirrel left me a gift for not bothering it! Like, "Here, ya gotta try these!" LOL
  18. Here's a link that outdoorstom provided for Deer Search Trackers: https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=1zytThlE9oezoxAipuYOwr9Ekxkg Another link you might find helpful.
  19. I think your doing the right thing by waiting until morning. That way, you don't risk pushing him. Hopefully, he'll just lay down and die close by. Of course, then you run the risk of coyotes and bear getting to him first! Oh well, like I said before, no rain and nice cold temps so the meat will still be good. Would be good to have someone with you if possible, just for another pair of eyes and to help you keep a level head. Might want to take some orange ribbon or something else to mark the bloodtrail, especially if it's sparse! Good luck and let us know how it goes!
  20. Owning my own property, I just toss it out in the woods.
  21. If it was a solid shoulder hit, you might not see much blood, especially if it's high with no exit. Should be some hair around on the ground where you hit it. Are you certain you were looking at the exact spot where it was standing when hit? Maybe you just missed the blood and hair in the dark? It happens, trust me...
  22. Not to make you feel bad, but you owe it to that animal to get back out there and look for that deer! Looking for 45 min in the dark does not constitute giving up. Either get a good light and a buddy and go back out tonight OR go back out in the morning. Weather is on your side... no rain and cold temps! Look up the # for Deer Search and see if they have anyone in your area.
  23. Wow! Some dandy's killed already! It would a nice feature to be able to view by county.
