  1. Out in 7F. Pretty windy here. I’m sitting on the edge of a hay field. Hoping the wind dies down a little bit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I’m out in 7A tonight. Just had this little doe come in to eat out of the food plot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Well. I missed a nice 8 point at 40 yards. Saw one more doe while walking out. I'll be back again in the morning. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Out in 7A with my son. We decided on the box blind over looking a clover and brassica field we planted. Raining on and off. But we've been getting pictures of a few bucks using the field every night. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I'm out with my nephew in 7R. He's so excited. It just started raining here. But we are in a blind. Good luck to all the youths and mentors out today. Knock em down! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  9. Out in 7F this morning. Not a gobble heard. Took my nephew out to get his first bird. Hoping the rain lightens up a bit so I can hear! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I took my son out this morning and we doubled up! Not much of a story but here it is. We got set up with two hen decoys out in a corner of a big field. As soon as we sat down the birds staring gobbling. They hit the ground and went into the field behind us. A few calls from me and they were on their way. Five came in and 3 left. My son knocked his down first and I crumpled mine up when he was coming back to jump on the first one. My son is definitely my good luck charm! My son's bird has a 9 1/2 inch beard and mine has a 9 inch beard. 1 inch spurs on both. Both weighed about 22 lbs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Two toms at 50 yards. Nephew tried moving to a closer window out of the blind and they caught him moving. Putt putt and they are gone. So close. We're sticking with it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. My nephew and I just had a close call with a great looking Tom. The Tom froze up at about 65 yards and I couldn't get him any closer, then he lost interest. Still fun to hear the nephew breathing heavy due to the excitement! Good luck to everyone out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Thanks for the reminder! I just sprayed my turkey pants. I was out in Parish a few weeks ago and ended up pulling 7 ticks off my pants after getting back into the truck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I'll be out with my nephew. It's his first year of hunting. I'm hoping to get him one! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. This is what I decided to do with my son's buck and my buck from this year. I ordered the piece of driftwood from a taxidermy shop online. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  18. Best morning in the woods ever with my son. He harvested an 11 point and I harvested a 8 point. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. He was using just the regular Tru ball slugs. The cheap ones. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Yes sir. Iron sights only. The shot was almost 100 yards. I was a bit off on my calculations of where the deer were gonna come out of the woods. lol.
  21. My dad and I went out to my buddy's farm in Cicero 7F this morning. I put him in the pines where I have been seeing deer all season. I sit on the edge of a hay field which is about 400 yards wide. About 8:20 I see 5 does come out of the hedgerow and enter the hay field about 300 yards from me. I watched them go into a small patch of woods behind the barn. About 9:00 I texted dad and set up a plan. I put him in the field where I thought the deer would come out when I pushed the woods to him. I walked around to the other side and walked into the woods about 20 yards when he shoots! When I get to the field he has a doe down! Finally after 6 years of being skunked he put one in the ground! To top it off this was his last day to hunt this year because he is leaving for Hawaii on Saturday for 2 weeks. He has put in a lot of hours out in the woods with me and I'm just glad he finally got one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. After 6 years of my dad not getting a deer. He finally connected this morning. I'll put the story in the harvest thread. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Rainy here in Parish 7A. No deer. I'm going to get down about 8:30 and try a little spot and stalk. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I just had two does with fawns go by me. I passed hoping that the buck from last night might have been following. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I sat from 2:00 until dark tonight in Cicero. I had a big 8 point at 31 yards in the field at 4:10 pm. He caught me drawing my bow back and took a few bounds towards the middle of the field. I ranged him again but he was 65 yards. Then he walked off into the hedgerow. I'll be back out again in the morning, hoping to get another crack at him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
