  1. A 500 grain arrow is going to penetrate better than a 350 grain arrow.
  2. A heavier arrow will retain it's kinetic energy down range better than a light arrow.
  3. I'm really lucky.My wife loves to hunt and much as I do.She bow hunts,gun hunts,and Turkey hunts.She shows no mercy on those pesky squirrels also.
  4. That is correct.Also the same target point weight as your broadheads.Before the season,you should practice with your broadheads to make sure the point of impact is the same as your target points.
  5. I use Tru Fire releases now but the $30 cobra i used to use is still going and has lasted 30 + years.
  6. Cobra makes quality releases in many styles and are reasonably priced.
  7. Oh really? Please explain that statement! My wife and I both have crossbows but we still love hunting with our compound bows.

So your telling me I have to pass up a nice buck the first 2 weeks of bow,but the gun hunters don't.What a bunch of BS.I'll shoot all the doe you want but don't tell me I have to pass on a mature buck after all the time and effort I put into food plots,etc and letting the little ones walk.Again I say BS
  14. The wife and I went snow shoeing last night.We checked out an area behind our house in Walworth,Wayne Co.The deer had browsed most of the pine trees as high up as they could reach.Luckily we haven't found any winter kill yet.We had 9 flat tops in our back yard the night before.
  15. I bought a camp in Allegany Co. last year.I asked my neighbor about this and he said that a couple of young bulls have been spotted in the Bolivar area a few times over the years.
  16. They never return to my area until mid April.Always makes me nervous they're not going to show.
  17. Here in Wayne and Monroe Countys the roads are mostly bare but you will find small patches of slush.Expressways are clear.Hope that helps.
