I hunt Allegany Co. There seems to be a Barred owl on every ridgetop and I have yet to hear a shock gobble. They seem to ignore them.I have better luck with a crow call when it starts to get light.
I've had very good luck late in the season in years past. Never give up.I killed almost as many the second half of the season as I have the early.Less hunters.Guys like "sits in trees" have quit.Almost like late black powder season. The pansys have gone home
I caught 4 trespassers on one of my trailcams this year. They were wearing back tags and I was able to blow the pic up and get their number.i call a friend with the DEC.He identified them and called me back with their names. That's one time I was glad we have backtags. Most of my hunting coats came with provisions to pin the tag on your back.
I own a Polaris Sportsman 500.I use it for plowing my driveway, disking and mowing my food plots, hauling treestands, hauling deer, firewood and the wife. I hope to upgrade to a midsize Ranger side by side soon.
Alot of the breeding in NYS is done during the month of April, but will also continue on into June. Many times during the month of May I have seen young polts.
