  1. I hunted Pittstown and Tibbets state forest for many years. Pittstown is a deer ghost town now that the state allowed the Mountain Bike association to put in trails everywhere. Went there last year, walked around for 3 hours and didn't even see a print. The Grafton side is now very overhunted. Tibbets is still ok. I hunt a little parcel of land in Waterford now whenever I come back to the area. It's not state land though. That area is tough. I live near Syracuse now and the hunting out here in Madison and Herkimer counties is great.
  2. I am also looking for the same thing. There are a few leases I am looking at but I need 2 more guys to split. They are in the Redfield/Osceola/Williamstown area. PM me if you are interested in starting a club. I live in Oneida so I am right in the middle of Syr and Utica
  3. The guy killed 4 deer with 5 total shots, all of which hit the target. How is that sloppy? I call that pretty good shooting. As long as it is legal where he was hunting I see nothing wrong here.
  4. I shot a nice 8 point chasing a doe at 270 yards. Hit it a little low and back and he ran right towards my buddy hunting the edge of a ridge and he dropped him. A little disappointing but at least he didn't get away. My shot was fatal but would have taken a little to bleed out. I hit the liver. My buddy took out his heart and he dropped in his tracks. I don't have a pic with me but when I get home to my PC I will post.
  5. I feel your pain. I got to my tree stand this morning only to not find my tree stand! Talked to the property owner and he says he had 2 chainsaws and a Haro Mountain bike stolen also. I am the only one allowed to hunt this property. It is posted very well. Just sucks that this is the world we live in. Brand new 15' ladder stand. I got to use it once!
  6. Nothing better than watching and listening to the woods come alive as the sun rises and you're sitting in your stand. Ahh, this is truly paradise! Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
  7. disagree. I self impose my own now but I don't care what anybody else shoots
  8. No, I can actually buy them at a 15% discount any time I want. So I basically get 15% off whatever the lowest/sale/clearance price/rebate price is.
  9. No Belo. Purchased separately. Got a great deal. I get discounted Bass Pro Gift cards. The gun, scope, bases, rings, sling, case, and 2 boxes of shells cost me $695 after tax and rebates.
  10. Well I am not an old timer (36)but I sure feel like it. I started my career in Retail, sales, then Management. By 33 I was burned out. I switched my career path to more hands on. I now work for Time Warner Cable as a Broadband technician(install/service tech). It pays less than what I was making but I love the work and I get to see my family everyday. Benefits are good and the company is stable. You need to figure out not only what you are good at but what you like to do. The money is not as important as the quality of life. Making a ton of money but not having the time to enjoy it just makes a person miserable. I have less money now but I do so much more my quality of life is great.
  11. I just wanted to post a pic of my new gun. It is my first new gun in 17 years and the first gun I have actually purchased. It's a Remington 700 SPS Stainless .308 with a Bushnell Trophy XLT 3-9X40 BDC scope. Haven't even shot it yet cause I can't find a range near me That doesn't require a membership.
  12. I don't have the money this fall but if you are still looking in the late winter/early spring send me a message. I've been wanting to get involved in a hunting club/lease for a long time and this is close by(less than an hour).
  13. Lie #1 Romney said his tax plan does not cut 5 trillion dollars in taxes and benefits the middle class but it has been proven by economists and fact checkers that his tax plan does add up to nearly 5 trillion dollars over the next 10 years. Lie # 2 Romney said he is not going to reduce the amount of taxes paid by the wealthy but his tax plan (once again confirmed by economists and fact checkers) would give the biggest tax breaks to the highest earners. Lie # 3 Romney said he is not gonna keep spending money on things that he has to borrow money from China to pay for but he want to give 2 trillion dollars more to the military and the only way to do that is to borrow the money...especially if he cuts taxes as much as he want to. It has also been proven by every economist that I can find(conservative, moderate, and liberal) that his tax plan would put the burden on the middle class while making the wealthy more wealthy and increasing the unemployment figures from 23 million today to roughly 40+ million by 2020. Trickle down economics does not, has not ever, and will not ever work. If you give the rich more money, they do not create more jobs, they put it in the bank with the rest of their money. If you give more money to the middle class we spend it on goods and services which in turn gives the rich more money and creates the need for more goods and services which creates more jobs which puts more money in the middle class...wash, rinse, repeat. It is simple economics. These are all facts. But If you are a Romney supporter then facts are not gonna get in the way of your decision just like they are not gonna let facts get in the way of there campaign.
