    I trolled the lower benches of my hillside yesterday, squat. Wind was ripping up top, wasn't bad down below. It's possible they just heard or saw me coming and politely skedaddled before I could see. Time to shower and get out for a mid day sit. Seems like I see the big boys on their feet in daylight more often after Thanksgiving. Be back at it full time starting Friday.

    Hey if anybody needs a cure for insomnia I got you! Swim a couple miles then hunt all day, you'll be in bed at 8. Downside being then You wake up at 230. Oh well, let's do it again. Maybe a nap today?

    Note to self:. Need to Windex the windows in the blind. First one is my my favorite half tame, ho doe. She was hanging around the cabin Saturday afternoon after I went out, I'm told. Must have smelled the tarsals on that buck.

    Watched 2 doe from the box blind chow in the plots for an hour after a long hike during mid day. Pretty sure 1 is my girl who lured her boyfriend in Saturday. She just stared at me and didn't spook when I got out! Nobody shoot her!!

    Crazy isn't it? One I took in October, inch and a half of fat all the way around him like a snow suit. This last one, looked almost exactly the same as the one hanging in your picture.

    Yeah. I'm pretty convinced the 8 I got this morning is the same buck. So, I'm a bullsh#$ artist is what I'm saying. Just finished hiking a hanger stand deep down my hillside property and hanging it. Going to take tomorrow to butcher him up, and see where the rest of the week takes me.

    I was at full draw at 35 yards on a solid 8 around 1230. He got my wind shortly thereafter and trotted back the way he came. It was fun practice, don't think I'd take him during gun. Or at least not the first week! Found a pretty active spot not far from there, smack dab in the middle of my hillside property, probably haul a stand way out there on Sunday. Edit:. This was from the ground, which I'm really becoming a fan of.

    Same, start walking at 500, in by 530. I've bumped them before on opening day early and they have time to settle.

    I got the bare bones, non power steering Grizzly 550, no regrets. She's about 600 lbs. Don't think you're going to break virgin sod with a quad though. The plotmaster I picked up this year does ok at pre tilled ground, but we use the tractor for all new plots. Hoping it's enough this next year logging trails and some hard to reach spots in the middle of the woods.
