Well, well, well. Biz is in trouble in fantasy, and the Bills and Chiefs are in a shoot out! Good times.

Was out opening day, nothing in the morning opening day in the ladder stand by the state land. Right around dark had 3 doe come in down wind looking for me in the stand below Kenny's stand spot on the side of the hill. 1 week later tagged a 2 year old 7 point at dark, #from_the_ground. Note to self: For the first week or so of the season next year, get a stand directly ON that plot, and mow it 2 weeks before the season again.

What you do is extremely important, generous and awesome @G-Man! Almost single handedly creating a new generation of hunters in your area, and dispelling the "my land my bucks" crap alot of people get into. You're the man!

Went out for an evening hunt, nothing showed up on the kill plot, light south east breeze. Have to drive the family 6 hours to chataqua county today, so I pulled the plug at 645. My dad was at the cabin about 600 yards away making noise, working on the cabin. Walking down the wood road, stopped to look at our big plot which we mowed 2 weeks ago, there's a dozen deer in the field. This is less than 100 yards away from where I was sitting. Then I see a rack turn the corner, make towards the oak tree 15 yards away, so I freeze. He goes into the hedge row, and I hear munching. So I pull up the face mask, nock one, and slide over behind a big poplar. I know exactly where he's going to step out, but it's last light. Munching stops, I draw, he steps out, stares at me from under 20, and I watch the luminok slap home. Looked good, but didn't pass through. Saw him run and knock the arrow out on a tree. Thought I heard him crash. Back out, check again in 45, found the arrow, blood was excellent. Magnus Stinger went right through and poked out the other side. Got done butchering around 2am.

7, didn't grow 1 brow tine. Very happy but it's gonna be a late night, gotta chop him up tonight. Nice 2 year old, shot right at last light, full story probably tomorrow

Sitting in the kill plot, didn't do so hot this year. Just some rye and turnips in it. Really light breeze right here, milkweed isn't traveling very far.

I'll get out for a sit tonight, east wind + traveling all weekend means get it while you can!

Big night this Sunday...... I'll be in an Airbnb in Fredonia watching. Gotta get the 6 hour family trip to the wife's family out of the way now. Game seems like a toss-up, whoever turns the ball over is probably going to lose. I'd give a slight edge the Chefs because home field.

We have a problem with it at an old shale pit in the Renslerville State Forest, people junking up the place shooting old TVs etc on state land. Brass everywhere, garbage, you name it.

Two doe and a yearling at 10 yards. They came in directly down wind acting like they were looking for me, weird. Driving to Buffalo tomorrow for the Bills game, or I would have whacked the fatter one.

Had a lovely nap in the cabin, followed by a leg cramp. Time to head back out!
