  1. So here is the question..... What do you take with you on your hunt? Food? Walkie Talkie? Calls? Scent? Scent Killer? Camera? Video Camera? Me - I take a Walkie, Scent Killer, Scent, Cell phone Binoc's, Water, and food. And whatever else is in the pack (I carry a back pack) Oh and my gutting knife of course.
  2. I've hunting in Pine Bush 1/2 my life... And bears are not in the area. However, I was invited to hunt up in delaware county where there are plenty of bears, big ones too! In fear of sounding like a big wuss, I've never been a fan of walking in the woods in the dark. I don't like the feeling of not seeing what is around me. While where I hunt now, the biggest predator is maybe a yote. I know people have seen a few bears in the area too. So that brings me to where I was invited to hunt, there are huge bears around. Is this something I should be worried about? Just freaks me out a bit walking in or out in pitch darkness with maybe a little flash light. There I said it!
  3. My brother asked me this question today... How do you start looking for bedding areas and what are some signs of a bedding area? I was like thats a great question... All I know is that you look for area's where you can actually see a bedding area, hammered down grass... But thats my extent of knowledge on the subject.. Can anyone else chime in and give some more idea on where they tend to bed, and other signs? This also leads into the question, where do you setup your stand if you do find a bedding area? Somewhere 1/2 between the food sources and the bedding area? Thanks ???
  4. WOW! Nice fields, thats going to be nice!!! What are you going to do on them?
  5. Yeah, nice pics! That boy will be a nice 8 or more when he is done!
  6. Do you have multiple tree stands depending on the wind? I don't yet, however this year I'd like to put a few more up so I have some options. But since I am surrounded by trails, deer come from all ways every day, so not sure if it would really matter?
  7. How old are the buck in your area? Generally I see the average as being 1.5 - 2.5, but it may be getting slightly better now.
  8. Saw this posted on another forum, a bunch of guys from PA got their own show on Sportsman's Channel. They said its not going to be the standard BS you see on other shows.... No Limits Outdoors TV
  9. First day of summer is here, that means we are that much closer to the season
  10. Anyone have some pictures to post? I am dieing to see some of the custom made stands.
  11. In the market for a new hunting knife that will last me a lifetime. Any suggestions?
  12. What is everyone's 2010 Deer Season Predictons? Are we looking at a good year for hunting?
  13. Do you wear Orange? If so why? If not Why not? ??? I personally wear orange during all seasons other then Archery, but I do wear an orange hat on my way out to my stand during Archery. I hunt private property, but you never know who got lost, who is on there that shouldnt be. So during rifle I wear orange pants and an orange hat. Better to be safe then sorry. Kind of surprised that NYS doesnt have an orange law..
  14. I've always wondered what is the definition of a BIG NY Buck? And whats the "Average" sized NY Buck (both in weight and rack size). I'm very limited to the one place I hunt, so I'd like to see what the consensus is.
  15. So, What was your most exciteing moment deer hunting? For me it was the first time I got to take a buck, back when I was 17. It wasn't till the end of the season, and a nice wide 6ptr came out. It took me at least 10 min for me to gain my composure to shoot.

    Road-kill

Could that translate to more deer? I am not sure, the ones being killed seem to be some big boys. Not fawns or anything.
