  1. These same does go there often. I would say nightly. They use our pasture as a thoroughfare. Last year I missed a doe during rifle and they still come back. Not a lot of pressure. Thank
  2. Fun day but a comedy of errors. I decided to hunt our pasture today since we seen three does this afternoon in the neighbors field. I set up in some tall grass on the edge of our property facing where we last saw deer going. I kept hearing rumbling like something stomach but thought it was one of our horse so I texted my wife to see if the horse were down by me so I would not move to look. As I turned my head all I saw was a flash of white. It was a does tail. She stay behind me sniffing and wearing to figure out what I was but I could not turn around or draw my bow. I stayed put for another half hour and she came back from other direct. She kept looking in my direction and got 15 yards from me in tall grass looking straight at me but all I could see was head but could not get shot. Just then my cellphone got a text message and vibrated. She walked off. I don't think she ever knew what I was so I will hunt again on Friday since I travel for work. Does anyone one think that spot was busted or will they be back? I should have listen to any earlier post about putting text on silent with no vibrate. Had a ball though it is my first year now hunting and third year hunting in general.
  3. Spring is more fun calling in birds. Fall is run and gun for me
  4. If turkey's could smell as good as deer you would never be able to shoot. They have wicked hearing and sight.
  5. Shamrock jacks in Irondequoit greAt food and bar.
  6. Thanks for all the info. We just moved to house last year had tons of apples and plums. This year nada. I thought I did something wrong. Looks like I am in same boat as a lot of you. Misery loves company. I did plant a small food plot of clover. Rape and brassica. Try sugar beets but they might not be successful. What else would you plant in August live near Binghamton thanks
  7. I learned where not to hunt in spring....
  8. Have 4 hens hanging around my house. Between the 4 hens about 30 poults. One batch ate pretty big compared to other three hens. Other day they were out eating my blueberries off the bush. I went out to shoo away and surprisingly got real close to them until they scattered..
  9. Anyone else having a bad year for apples. Last year I had tons of apples. This year we had a late frost and I think it damage buds really bad winter this year. Just want to hear others view.

  15. I like AT&T good coverage for me and I travel entire state. I got shared plane but two lines bill is 119.54 per month. Like the unlimited talk and text I am not a big data user.
  16. When I moved here I was kind of surprised that we get two spring gobblers and length of fall season. Back in pa we got three days in wmu in Fall and one gobbler unless you bought additional tag before season started
  17. Hello I moved this summer it Afton Ny area. I used to hunt state game land in central pa with decent luck. I have been hunting this spring in Melondy Hill, Oak Ridge and Bumps Creek state forests but have one hear one faint gobble. I am not asking for anyone's secret spot to hunt but wonder bests place if all three to hunt and if possible maybe some areas I do not know about. I know melondy hill is pretty big area but if someone could shrink my learning curve it would be great. Thanks
  18. Nothing in 7p. Saw one hen crossing road on way to state forest windy as heck
  19. 7p a Afton area so far seen one line hen pretty regular and today a flock of three birds one tom and two hens. In fall flock was about 15 or so. Unsure if lost birds from winter
  20. In the fall I saw a nice flock of birds where I hunt. Seen them off and on through winter. Just takes some time to patterns birds. I would get out and listen in am for that beautiful sound. Also maybe put it some game cameras. I usually put out camera in a new area I hunt to see what wildlife comes to visit.
