    As others have said, I use scent elimination products to help reduce the amount of odors in my scent stream. Of course these products are not 100% effective when deer are downwind, but it definitely helps deer feel more comfortable / tolerable of your presence. When it comes to hunting mature deer. You better try to keep the wind to your advantage, older bucks especially will not tolerate human smell whatsoever in my experience.

    9f- Hunted most the day, very miserable weather. Winds were blowing pretty hard with periods of rain and hail. Saw a spike buck at 2:00. Then at 4:30 a doe and her baby walked by with no boys to follow. I'll be back at it in the morning.

    My wife was right, I must be a little crazy to be sitting in a tree right now. Wind has let down slightly, but it is miserable out.

    I'll be heading out today, I hoped to be strapped to tree by 10:00. Hope the winds die down a tad bit more before I head out.

    Well i have had a crappy day! I sat till 11:00, saw one deer slip by me in the thicket, tried to call it out, no luck. I figured I'd go home to spend some time with the kiddos because there home from school. Upon leaving the woods go to check one of my cams and come to find out some trespasser stole it. Sucks...people just can't respect others property. I will be talking with the neighboring property owner.

    9f- rain and light winds here. No movement yet and heads on a swivel. All I hear are rain drops.

    Saw 4 small bucks move between 2 and 4. Good morning movement till 10, mostly lone doe. Weird that the doe weren't being harrased...noticed no real chasing today. Trickle Rut...that would suck! Every time I think things are going to bust loose...I'm let down.

    Fork horn just walked by...damn wind is all over the place. It's now blowing out of the N. Oh well. BS!

    Probably gonna regret it... just passed up a nice doe. Have had good movement all morning 75-100 yds away from me. May need to relocate this climber.

    9f- I made a heck of a racket getting in this climber...sweated my ass off! One deer just before first light and a lone doe at 0700 out of range. Hopefully the stay on the move.

    9f- I believe they are transitioning from seeking to chasing phase in my area. The doe are almost ready...peak rut is near.

    Sat all day and had zero deer sightings after 0830 hrs. Oh well that's hunting. Wish I didn't have to work tomorrow. I'll be back at it Monday morning for the rest of the week.

    Bummer...this has happened to most everyone. Maybe you should try deer search, it's worth a shot.

    Had a buck bumping some doe in the thick stuff this morning, I hit the can, and he came in to about 50 yds. He then snort wheezed and made some other god awful sound but wouldn't come in. Then about 30 min later 2 doe came by looking pretty roughed up. Sit tight boys...shit is about to get crazy.

    9F- Just had a cool encounter with a decent 8 just cruisen along my scent drag...passed him. Wind picked up and just rained for about 5 min.

    9F- seemed things were starting to come around a week ago but that changed abruptly. Scraping and rubbing activity appeared to have slowed down. Trail cams were busy 1-2 weeks ago with young deer and doe groups, but have been dead the last week. Still have not seen any mature bucks on cams or during sits. Maybe this is the beginning of the November lull especially with these warmer temps coming are way. Looks like I'll be saving the majority of my vacation days for the 2 and 3 week of November.

    I will say this, "NOW" is the time to hunt doe groups. I'd hang in there, magic time is about to happen!
