  1. I mostly agree but... Comparing how much work we do when it's hot out vs cool is not what happens in nature. Nature has a time clock, the does NEED to be bred in a short window in order to ensure good fawn survival in the spring. Deer cannot simply wait until it's cool enough for their comfort level. Bucks do not know what "waiting" is this time of year, they know one thing. I had bucks cruising at 3PM today, alone, at what was likely the warmest part of the day. I'm sure it does slow some does down more than it does bucks. I've seen as many bucks cruising mid day at 65-70° than at 40° this time of year. I think it matters more to the hunter than the deer. My .02... Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  2. I agree, Tuesday/Wednesday looks prime, and I'm off both days. I did have a couple of cruisers today at 3PM though, I'm surprised but not... Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  3. @moog5050 Obsession bow that he sold me is officially broken in. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  4. Doe down. 25 yds shot, she ran 20 and tipped over. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  5. Sloooooow day after 9AM. It showed promise early on. The 3+ yr olds seem to be still flirting with daylight on both ends, that should change soon. Next Tuesday and Wednesday are looking better. Today was the 3rd time this week I've had mature bucks within 20 minutes of light in bow range, cams are showing the same. I'll be out in the AM again, may not stay all day though. 48 hours in the stand since Monday is taking a toll on me. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  6. Dead here since 9am, 3 bucks this AM. I'm hoping there's something worth staying for tonight before dark, otherwise I wasted another beautiful afternoon... Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  7. So this just happened while it was too dark to properly shoot... Are you kidding me?? I'm in stand in between these cams. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  8. Nothing after 4pm today, got a pic of a 10 that has been absent for a month a bit ago though, 150 yds from where I sat the last few days, hopefully he graces me with his presence at 25 yds in the AM. Another all dayer tomorrow. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  9. I actually like sitting when they're cutting corn, it doesn't bother them much at all. I shot a buck a few years back about 150 yds from the combine, he was running a doe still. I actually had to stop the driver from cutting the top corn because I thought he died in it and didn't want him to get ran over. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  10. This place is pretty magical the first week of November. The corn still standing is putting a damper on it though, they cruise that corn all day and you can't see them. I've got two more dark to dark sits to make it happen. I was razor close this morning but I hate forcing shots. I believe 11 different bucks in the last 2.75 days. 11. 6pt just nudged a doe by at 18yds Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  12. No desire, I'm not going to do anything with it. I like seeing them. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  13. Pretty gray fox just came by. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  14. Spike came back, basket 8 just ran a doe through the corn. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  15. Or me! Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  16. Exciting AM so far, big 7pt came out down 15 yds from the tree I was in yesterday which put him at 45yds. He went back into bedding. Doe and fawns came in shortly after, only to get ran all over by a small 6, the noise brought the 7 back out at 30yds but he wouldn't stop, he ran them all over the ridge. Just had a spike come through, followed by 2 more fawns. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  17. Great day, 6 bucks, 2 fawns, a coyote and a fisher. Passed on a 50 yds shot on a great 8 pt, a bit too far to be flinging comfortably, hopefully he does it again tomorrow. First real grunting going on today for me, and movement pretty much all day. Another all day sit tomorrow... Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  18. Had a stud of an 8 come through 15 minutes ago, 50 was as close as he got. Gotta move a bit further uphill in the AM. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  19. Another decent buck just came across the Rd and went into bedding, he also did not care about grunts... Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  20. That means either there's a lot of deer and ticks, or even the ticks can't find any deer! Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  21. My blood is pumping, heard a commotion in the bedding behind me, heard a few grunts, 2 fawns came running out, followed by two 2yr old bucks, a 7 and an 8 point, the 8 tried going back in and got ran back out again. I can hear a buck in there breaking branches but I can't see him. He didn't come out for grunts, the other 2 bucks wanted nothing to do with my grunting... Mid day action again. 22. Get it out! The walleyes are practically jumping in boats right now. I'm not putting mine away until it gets cold, that could be February for all I care. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  23. 2 yr old 8 just cruised the lower side of the ridge, mouth open Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  24. You and me both. Sad when you've killed more coyotes than deer. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  25. I've had really good luck Nov. 1-4 sitting all day, a lot more mid day movement than most might think. I always sit dark to dark those days. It's not always easy though! Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
