  3. I broke down and bought a super telephoto lens. I got a Sigma 150-500mm after watching eBay for weeks. Finally got out to do some shooting, here's a few pics! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  4. I hear ya, my eyelids were freezing shut on the ride out before light Saturday morning! Now you can ride out in a t shirt! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  5. I bent them all flat halfway through the morning, they're only good for catching the bottom of the hole apparently! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  6. I've now taken an Atlantic and a brown in Oneida in one year! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  7. Another morning on Oneida, caught 8 walleyes, all shorts, landed 25 perch, dumped a bunch at the hole thanks to the front hook on the jigging raps. Also got a surprise fish, caught a brown trout, my first from Oneida! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  8. Surprisingly it wasn't busy at all where I was, usually it's packed, tomorrow will be a different story though. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  9. Awesome morning on Oneida, 40 perch and 1 legal eye! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  10. I hunt all State land so I can't use mine for hunting at all either. Snow plowing and ice fishing and the occasional short trail ride. I wish I could use it more but on the flip side, I bought the wheeler brand new in 2013 and I've only got 300 miles on it so at this rate it should last forever! Still mint condition. 11. A machine is a must for fishing Oneida extensively. If there was a time to walk out it's now though, pretty much glare ice, easy drag. But a machine is 100X better. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  12. Yeah, it gets frustrating. I had my wife out with me and the first few 16" walleyes I pulled up and debated on keeping them and the wife says "they're biting really good just throw them back and catch bigger ones." I told her how quick they can shut off and that's exactly what happened. Out of 50 Lookers after noon we caught 2 fish. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  13. Jigging raps and forage minnows. They were real active for the first hour I was there then they shut off, still marked fish the whole time but they had lockjaw, they'd follow it 8' off bottom but not commit. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  14. Went out for the first trip of the year on Oneida yesterday around 10AM. Limited on eyes in 40 minutes, picked up 8 perch in the next 2 hours, along with 6 more walleyes before they shut off. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  15. Hahaha nope, this is an indoor bow only. I'll buy a Mathews if I want to use a bow outside and bang it off of trees, no loss there... [emoji16] Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  16. I was also interested in shooting the Hoyt Red Wrx but I omitted it as soon as I saw the price tag. I'm not paying $1600 for a bare bow, period. $1000-1100 is bad enough. Just got my Realm X tuned, rest installed, peep, d loop, sight on, arrows cut, wrapped and fletched. And now it's 3° outside so I haven't even shot it... Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  17. The shanties way out now? I'll be out Tuesday weather dependent. Hopefully the snow we're supposed to get will blown off the ice. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  18. You'd be undergunned with a 5wt for sure, doable? Maybe, but I'd bet they'd take you into the current and it'd be game over. 7wt would be the lightest I'd go, anything lighter and you can overplay the fish to exhaustion and they won't recover from it. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  19. It's motivation, not cruelty! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  20. Yep, people tend to get hung up on finesse tactics and these fish can be real aggressive. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  21. Browns, Rainbows and Eagles. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  22. Ice is still a bit thin for my liking around here so pin it is until then! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  23. Yep, 10' handled net. Scenery isn't too "wild" but I do see several eagles every time cruising low looking for fish and hundreds of ducks flying around so it could be worse! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  24. I hear you, I'm there more than I'm in my own town lately! It's still shocking it gets so little pressure after salmon season, world class trout from shore and I only saw 3 guys all day. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  25. Oswego is where it's at! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
