  1. Wrong gloves, no fireballs and now a cough I barely stifled... Sounds like the kinda night I actually harvest...come on deer it's been 2 weeks since I've seen any of ya!
  2. Oh man that just reminded me I forgot my fireballs...along with my light weight gloves...dangit!
  3. Well the flowers and chocolate paid off quick. Within five minutes she asked if i wanted to hunt tonight. When I said yes she told me to hurry home when I was done! Already seen more animals then in the midday sits.
  4. Well it sounds like he was lucky he didn't fire it, possibly could have resulted in an errant shot or possibly a dry fire if it came loose prior to release. Live and learn and then mess up again that's how I do it.
  5. Like BGF said they should be snug...I have a narrower diameter arrow so my nocks are typically smaller in general and they are snug to the point where the arrow can come off the rest and slowly swing out to nearly perpendicular with the bow at which time it typically will fall off the string.
  6. I swear to god I've said that to my wife 2x per hunting season for atleast 10 yrs running!
  7. Woot looking around 120" from my view, way to go guys looks like the deer are moving! I'm trying a new method today, my wife just landed back in the states...our anniversary was Wednesday. I got this doe bait, hoping mine is hot and can't resist... Hopefully I score and at the same time free myself from any other weekend obligations that might interfere with hunting...conditions are right, I like my odds!
  8. As was already said a clean miss beats a bad hit all day. A lot easier to forget about, now forget about it. Good Action!
  9. Have you retrieved your arrow? I only ask because with my heavy settup I have yet to have a deer know it was shot before it fell over.
  10. I know I meant relative to ones that fall off easily but thanks for clarifying as it did sound like I was advocating using clamps for nocks.
  11. Sometime the energy in the letdown from the initial draw is enough to pop the nock loose of the string. Alternatively nocks do wear out over time but it can take a pretty long time...I use really tight nocks just to be sure.
  12. Sorry I bought out all the fireballs in the northeast...I'm as Ruthless as J.R. Ewing
  13. I called 3 retired encon officers in other states/provinces and read the license handout almost one whole time. You show me it in the regs!!!
  14. Hock do you need someone to help thin all those damn deer always bugging you?
  15. Good luck out there tonight folks... Screw the antlerice that's on the way...I called in the Calvary for this weekend:
  16. Or some dude who had buck fever 2 years ago on this stud sent an arrow there... Missing half tail I'm saying someone Texas heart shot this moose and he persisted!
  17. Well guys I did it again so you didn't have to. Zilch, not even a squirrel in 2 sits 6+ hours midday peak and trough. Was a glorious day in relation to parenting duties which resume imminently (wife gets back stateside tomorrow afternoon woohoo).
  18. I love that we are talking about all these dogs living or dead the same way...as legends! Thanks again all for sharing.
  19. It sounds to me like you have an "our" dog...I know the sort and they are great too!
  20. Organically...As in I have a 3yr old daughter...but yes it's awesome! Friendship is Magic
