  1. Unless you got a pen and a prod that's how it is...and if you do that ain't hunting Sounds like the boy got altleast 2 good lessons !
  2. You get a tape from on him for an unofficial yet...he looks damn close to 120 Edit: quoted the wrong post somehow...supposed to be a picture of your buck...like I said great buck looks 110-120 to me
  3. Archery harvest thread finally made it to page 2! Great buck Zeek...nice harvests everyone.
  4. Those guys are terrible fur your hunting career...I've enjoyed the moneymakingManhattan lifestyle enough to know I'm jealous.
  5. Did one jack tonight with the kids and then I ate his brains with a nice IPA, can you still hear the lambs Clarice...
  6. I can tell you that I am not certain who is right but I can tell you that the logic given to chrisw by a DEC officer is inaccordance with other similar codes and that answer did not suprise me. Now given that second hand info from a DEC officer I would be (and might fur the sake of curiosity) calling a local officer to confirm or deny this ruling. If you continue to carry both afield without clarification that is on you and should you be confronted by an officer (afield or because of internet photos) he is not going to care how many times you read the book or how poorly written we deem the code. Let me also point out that I am far less than perfect and would have illegally shot a turkey last week if fletch wouldn't have reminded me it wasn't 2014
  7. That's the exact topo 4 of my archery bucks and countless doe harvests come from.
  8. I thought so as well but as usual you need a dec officer to clarify rather than a simple writing of the rule.
  9. I bet he is where you thought you saw him drop...hope so...either way nice cautious approach. Good luck!
  10. Deer search is not a terrible idea because they can dispatch the animal and if it's just a shoulder and a bit of lung on a mature buck that's not a debilitating shot until (if) death arrives many hours later. Maybe if you bump him once on the initial attempt call them.
  11. Quartering? Hit Where? How far up the remaining arrow shaft is blood (penetration indicator). If only 8-10 through shoulder quartering is not great.
  12. Details? Yardage? Quartering? Entry location? Arrow?
  13. I shot a similar 8pt 2 seasons ago...2.5yrs. Depends where you are and what they get to eat. I think he could be 3.5 decent brisket and belly and the brows are pretty far apart.
  14. Forgot to mention how ridiculously big Conn Hill WMA is for anyone who isn't aware...11,000 acres I can access from my lease! http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/9331.html
  15. Moog and WNY I got dollars to donuts between you guys there's 2 does and a book buck down by Nov 3rd...and that Biz gets busted on the draw once by then as well...teehee!
  16. I graduated from IC but I got educated on the East Hill a few times.
  17. I do not like groundblinds and cannot understand how a man of your stature manages.
  18. Cayuga Heights is the unhuntable deer Valhalla.. The Cornell property im adjacent to is 5 miles south of Ithaca in Newfield... I wish I had private access on the east hill. Actually I can't complain my buddy has had me on piece of private in Ulysses (sw shore/ridge of Cayuga) going on 7 years now...DMFA! Also Cornell has an awesome hunting program on their lands.
  19. Took me 3 hrs but I hiked the stankin ladder midway up my lease and settup...passed literally more than 12 active scrapes and I'm settup on a fresh rub line with 8 rubs within 20 yards: Also pulled the lone wolf after nearly a year...the one screw to flatten it was rusted fast gotta go clean her up here in a bit.
