  1. I know it sounds odd… but any chance you weren’t looking through your peep sight? Otherwise you’re right.. string hit something, limb hit something or deflection.
  2. 135lb doe hindquarter (after 3.5 days in the deer fridge)
  3. Temps are dropping! Fire tonight, hunting in the morning.
  4. Celebrating Diwali tonight!
  5. No deer seen today. First time that’s happened out of 17 hunts so far this season. and it makes sense after checking trail camera pictures. I must’ve pushed the coyotes out on my way in.
  6. 29 degrees and almost no wind. Pretty much buck only today… although there are 2 big old nasty does in the area that might get an arrow given the chance. Good luck everyone!
  7. Nah that’s the arrow we use to check the shot. CSI arrow
  8. Shot was <10 yards from my climber... hit a little bit low, but luckily the Rage's 2.3" cut did its job. She went maybe 15 yards and some of that was sliding down a hill. Tracking doesn't get any easier than that.
  9. In dark times like these... the world needs Biz Jr.!!!!
  10. Feels like a great morning… wish I wasn’t at work. Good luck everyone!
  11. Deer liver the only way I liked it… with bacon and onions. And I still have another one in the fridge. Any good recipes??
  12. I drove down to Rush at 7 then back up around 9... some were Southbound. You cant miss the bloated one just south of Erie station Rd.
  13. Apparently I'm not willing to risk my life or be late to work for a spike. And the balloon-like bloated basket rack... I'm not messing with him either.
  14. Saw 4 dead bucks along 390 this morning, in the couple mile stretch between the Rush exit and the thruway
  15. I guess I forgot to tell the does they are fair game tonight. Heart shot!
  16. Up in the climber. Rain stopped… let’s see who wanders by!
  17. I had enough of the from the ground excitement. We don't have a stand on the travel route he took... but Ill be up there tonight in my climber.
  18. Passing on deer builds character! And I agree, today was fun whether I shot him or not. And now I can still target bucks for the next 3 weeks.
  19. Well that was an exciting hunt. I saw this buck in a cut cornfield about 250 yards away. I made a move, guessed right, got set up and ended up passing on a quartering-to shot through some brush. He made it to this field and was headed away. I turned him around with some calling, he came back towards me, but stayed just out of range and then slowly worked away from me. He’s not the biggest one around but now I have a bit of a grudge. Definitely had my blood pumping. Edit: This was the third buck I saw on it's feet between 7 and 8AM... apparently no one told them they shouldn't be moving in warm weather.
  20. Quick hunt before work this morning. Buck only today, so I’ll probably see a record number of does.
  21. Thanks for the reminder… it’s been a while since we’ve made “hunters pie”
