  1. Thank you! I often think the same thing. It is amazing what insurance companies will cover for dirtbag druggies, but for arm devices I utilize to earn a living, they jerk folks like me around. You just shake your head, and are left no choice but to NOT hang the phone up until you are approved!
  2. Wow, that is very nice of you, while I do not speak of it for a reaction, I do truly appreciate the kinds words! Unfortunately, I fell on the hand pictured during the winter, and sheared off the main gear, and finger guides inside. Health insurance only wants you to have one prosthetic device, well they do not realize that I work. I do not work at a desk. I am very labor intensive, and my body takes a beating. I work for a parks, and recreation department for a township, a lot of hand work, and what not. Point is, I really need a hand for work, and an arm for after work. The work arm gets damaged, nicked, and abused, so it is nice to be presentable after work with a seperate nice arm. It is really no different than work boots, and a seperate pair of boots for non-work use. Anyways, the handed needed repair, so at this point I cannot submit approval through insurance for a full new arm, and hand. Reason is, if we just fixed your current arm, why do you NEED a complete separate new arm...they just do not understand. The arm pictured is 6yrs old, which is old in my arm years, since they get USED. I do EVERYTHING but monkey bars...which is why I recently started an Instagram account. I do not like social media, bit I do like inspiring people who have lost limbs, and so on. To answer your question, the arm is now fixed, and operating wonderfully, and I am so happy to have it back. I am a huge critic about prosthetics, because if it is crap, it is of no use, and it benefits no one, so why sugarcoat? So yes, I never complain, no one will hand me anything, or do it for me for free. If that was even a possibility, I wouldn't want it! I enjoy surprising people with what I can do, besides, I was born like this, I have it simple compared to those who have lost a lumb throughout life. Sidenote, I shoot compound bow for the challenge, and the wow affect. I did harvest a deer with it, and was so proud of it. If I get a big buck with it, I might just sell the bow, lol. I operate backhoes , excavators, plow snow, and so on, and so on. Anythings possible, you are truly you're own worst enemy I really do appreciate the kind words, all I want to do is show true amputees that life goes on, and that anything is possible.
  3. Oh no lol! Is that really your kid's uniform? Glad you followed...
  4. Yes, good job, you typed my name in correctly. Here's a biscuit. Are you clock465? Thats with an "L".
  5. Thanks, going to take a look at it, always looking for new meal ideas.
  6. I just caught the parade part! Hysterical!
  7. I am not a fan of the heat, I work outside in it all day. You would think that I would acclimate to it, but the cooler weather I adjust to, not the heat unfortunately. Oh well, such as life.
  8. We had it again, lol. We love avocado, shrimp, and tomato. We are trying to eat a bit healthier, even though avocados are actually fatty. We are fortunately in good shape, but that meal is just so quick, and easy. We have been walking each night after work, so as we are walking, the shrimp is thawing. We grab those cooked frozen bags for this. I get home at 4:30, shes home around 6ish, we walk about 6 miles each walk, so we get back around 8ish....need to be up at 5:15 so, hence the repetitious meal. Not ashamed, homemade pizza tomorrow we are thinking! Not feeling badly about your posts, gotta have fun, I was telling the girlfriend about it as she was plating it earlier, lol.
  9. It was not active during my visit either actually. Yum, I had kind crab legs one night there, and the following night had chicken cordon bleu, delicious! Enjoy, and safe trip home! Headed up to Moosehead Lake in about a 7 weeks.
  10. Thunderhole! I went up about 10 yrs ago, very nice. Thanks for sharing photos. Is the Quarterdeck restaurant still there on the corner by the water? Delicious.
  11. Myoelectricoutdoors on Instagram More than welcome.
  12. Glad it is of interest to you. This arm, and hand it 6 yrs old. The white glove pictured is the inner glove, a seperate glove goes over top of that white glove. I fell on this hand during the winter from ice, heard a snap, and sheared some guides, gears, and other interior parts within the hand. You are a good judge, this hand seems very primitive, and old school compared to other high tech hands on the market. However, where this hand excells, and in my opinion outdoes all the others is exactly what you mentioned. I can make this hand open, and close so slowly, that you can see it barely move, to the point you can hear the gears meshing inside. The hand will move smoothly at speeds where it hardly moves....other hands, including the most popular bebionic, and iLimb hands cannot move this slow, the computers inside cannot recognize the low muscle signals, resulting in the hand moving in spurts. Pretty amazing. I started an Instagram about 2 weeks ago where I post mini videos, and such showing my life, and how I use my prosthetics.
  13. All in good fun, I don't think anyone logs on for aggravation. Besides, I just got my hand back after a 6 month repair, not going through that again, lol.
  14. Ok pheww! Wouldn't want to overlook a fight
  15. Where is this fight, and who is he fighting with? No one is really disagreeing fully with one another.
