  1. Perfect conditions for me. Wind direction is great and the rustling leaves covered my footsteps. Moon is so bright.
  2. 62 here and windy but at least its not raining. I'm gona give it another try this morning till 9.
  3. Probly would end up here just about on time to take out for the rest period while I finish hunting tonight.
  4. So who gets in trouble if caught hunting near it? Probly you
  5. Yeah one last hornet hanging around. I just got my bag limit on hornets. I'm still sitting here while he mows so we'll see. I will be out in the morning so that should be better. I have other places to hunt but sometimes it's nice to get out of the stand and go straight in for dinner.
  6. Right now I could care less about him mowing because these hornets are becoming a bit much
  7. Since he's mowed my food plots once before I was thinking of going and mulching his landscape for him.
  8. No field its a yard. I live on a street full of houses. Me and two other people on the street own behind all the house. So if I go to the back of my property I have a small woods that connects to some other woods that I can legally hunt. Neighbor just happens to decide to dump on my back woods instead of his and he mows his entire property where I let mine grow with some trails. Great hunting with little pressure if it's not lawn mowing day.
  9. Just heard tractor turn off. Now for these last two hornets
  10. I hope my day turns out like stones. I'm standing on the ladder at the top of my stand hunting down hornets one by one as they land on my chair while my neighbor decides he's go a come dump a bunch of yard debris under my stand with his tractor and then proceed to mow up whatever he's dumping. I'm in a residential area right now and I am 25 yards off his property line so he probly doesn't know I'm here but it is my property.
  11. Well that would be something but no, I'm in my tree stand with perfect wind direction and plenty of time to wait out my ribs and brisket that are smoking low and slow.
  12. Finally I'm where I belong again. I guess you could call me late for the morning sit or early for the evening. I'm going to say early.
  13. Anybody know what these are? They were huge
  14. I was backpacking with my wife south east of Buffalo. That storm wasn't forecasted very well. Warmest clothes we had were our hooded sweatshirts. Woke up in the morning our tent was covered in snow. We tried hiking but could no longer see the trail markers because the snow was blowing and sticking to the sides of the trees. We finally found a campground and the owners were closing the next day and were going to be winterizing a few cabins they had. They let us stay the night until we could get picked up the next day and they even baked chocolate chip cookies and brought them to us while still warm.
  15. I like those two posts also. A lot can change in a short amount of time.
  16. I mow under my stand all summer long and continue to do so except I blew a belt the other day. My deer are use to it.
  17. Lasted about 30 seconds while I walked home from my stand.
  18. Ever get that feeling like you know there are deer in the brush near you but they won't come out?
