I think antler restriction would be great then the ability to draw more doe tags IF you tag out and report the harvest... last year i didnt get a buck because i held out, this year all ive seen is a small scrub buck. It's not looking good but i shot a fat doe for meat yesterday and still can shoot up to 3 more does i think. I have 2 doe tags and 1 more tag is either sex so if the chance happens and no big buck ill take another doe. I share property with other hunters (not the brightest) and they definitely ruin alot of my chances at even seeing a mature buck but it is what it is. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

It would be nice to have a ravin or ten point (newer one that doesn't weigh 10lbs) and have that speed and compact size. Its almost like saying you can hunt with a .308 but cant use the 6.5 ? Makes zero sense. Can't even use an excalibur due to the draw weight?? Lol. Makes no sense. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

I can attest that this is one of the best bows ever made. I have one and still use it as a backup Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

I think its honestly pathetic with the sunset time. I can 45 mins after "sunset". While i was hunting elk in Montana the regs were much more how they should be. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

Anyone know when the state will update the regs on modern crossbows? None of the new ones coming out are legal for the most part... Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

I like sitka gear head to toe but use a neck gaiter instead of facemask unless its gun season. The neck gaiter can be pulled up like a facemask and pulled down quick to feel the string when i draw my bow and anchor. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

How much did you spend this year preparing for the season?
TonySkyline replied to Core's topic in General Hunting
I spent way to much as i do every year. I tend to think materialistic things will make me a better hunter or increase my odds of killing a big buck. In reality its honestly the garbage land i have to hunt in this allready poor whitetail state. To answer your question, at least $5,000 but that includes my hoyt RX-1 which is half of that rigged out. I spent a lot more if i included the trip to Montana for elk but that was actually worth it even though i didnt come back with one. I have a archery addition and sitka gear as well. Both expensive! Moving forward i am goin to stop buying more gear (have way to much) and start buying hunting trips or ay least lease some decent property here in upstate NY. Ok i think im done now. Lol. (Writing from the treestand as i see nothing but some morons ladder stand and pink camo ground blind that he setup 20 yards on both sides of my stand that ive had here for 4 years ) Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk -
Question - are the scorypd crossbows NY legal? I want to upgrade my ten point to a ravin but not worth the $ if it's illegal. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

APA makes a bow that is up there with the full throttle, I believe it's called the king cobra. Around a 370 in. Also the bowtech rpm should be in there as well with a 360 ibo Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

If anything, I would like more archery regardless of what kind of bow and a smaller gun season. Also maybe an antler restriction but give more doe tags to help the ratio and population control Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk

Lol, ok then I am not offended. But it did look like ya said you would shoot me! For the sake of us all being hunters, I love the sport either way regardless of weapon of choice. If it happens, it happens, I will accept that and gladly share the woods with a x bow hunter. Like I said, I do have a 10 point x bow and they are deadly accurate but do have their cons as well. You more than likely will never get a 2nd shot at an animal if ya don't make the 1st shot count but they are VERY accurate. I took a decent buck last year with my x bow and I would've never been able to take that same shot with my pse compound due to the nature of the shot. The bolt went through the shoulder, heart, and exited out the other shoulder. I couldn't believe the power of it. Shooting the x bow has also made me even more accurate with my rifle because it cured my flinch that I developed over the last few years. All in all man I love compounds and love the sport of archery and I like the way the seasons are now.Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk

Unless you were implying you would out shoot me.. then I would accept the challenge, but shoot me over a x bow conversation just says exactly what I am saying, if ya can't shoot a bow stay out of the woods until gun season becasue "yo tony skyline" ain't down with people shooting anything that moves in the woods Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk

Wow fred bear, you are a pos. You will shoot me? Wtf? I will beat your ass all over the state, with a name like fred bear ya shouldn't be crying about cross bows ya flamingo Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk

Im sorry but that is my stance on it. X bow is not a bow. If your handicapped then fine, if not lower your poundage and learn how to use a bow. NY has it fine right now with 2 weeks of crossbow is all Im saying. If you want that extra month shoot a compound. It ain't that hard Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk

I own a crossbow but honestly do not want the early bow season ruined with every gun hunter in the woods with a crossbow. I work hard all year at shooting my compound and use that first month as an advantage. I'm fine with the way it is now and 2 weeks is plenty with the x bow especially since it comes at the peak of the rut Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
