  1. Yea those areas of sterling between 17 and 87 are very very swampy and very thick. One could successfully bow hunt in there but the walks In and out would be very difficult I looked at doing It but the access to get in there is very hard
  2. So I found 3 scrapes very close to each other like 3 feet apart kind of making a circle each with their own licking branch, has anyone ever seen this before and what do you think it means...... One buck or different bucks, scrapes were just of a good trail 40 yards into the woods
  3. I set up a ladder stand around one and had a doe under me at 5 yards around 4
  4. Dead so far nothing moving at all they must know what I did last night
  5. That sucks man.... And I thought I was the only one to make a heart pounding mistake this weekend
  6. Out for what is most likely my last bow sit till December. Hope they come back in after I clipped a doe above the spine last night
  7. All there within 5 feet of each other things are looking good This is in 3 h
  8. That's kinda what it looks like, but absolutely. No blood any where on the ground. I searched far and wide last night and again this morning and nothing
  9. Ducks and duck hunters all going nuts here in 3h all I hear is shotguns and ducks quacking in the distance... It's coming from all directions
  10. Back out same stand as last night
  11. Saw some new scrapes opening up today in liberty. I hope the fact that I grazed a doe today didn't kill my spot for tomorrow
  12. It was, she was 8 fricken yards stand I put up this afternoon after patterning deer for the past two weeks..... Searched the direction she went 50 yards left to right and 100 yards deep did not see one drop of blood some tiny bits of chunky meat on the arrow... And I could see the dark brown above her spine where the arrow hit. I'm gunna hit that stand all day tomorrow
  13. No blood anywhere it really looked like I grazed her back she did kinda jump the string pp
  14. It's really not, it's 40 acres of private land bow season coming to a close and they hit the apples nightly just trying to get it done
  15. View from today's sit in the apples tress still have a few on them
  16. 3s the rut is on! Took a ride tonight just to check on movement. Saw a nice 8 chasing a doe hard. South of 287 so can never go after him but just wanted to see movement
  17. Ok I've been hunting a few different areas and have had a few different results 3s. Younger buck starting to chase does scrapes and rubs all over the place I have seen more road kill young bucks and some does as well... I personally feel watching for increase in road kill is a great way to see what they are doing 3n some scrapes and rubs no chasing 3h. I was up there all weekend and Monday saw a few scrapes and rubs but no chasing at all does were still coming in in a big group 10+ at a time.... Younger bucks were coming in to feed before the does and leaving right before they got there... Big boys only seen way before and after legal... I'll be headed up here for this coming weekend hoping things get going quick
  18. In a Stand in 3 n at a friends place he put me here and went to his stand. Hopefully he put me in a good spot. If not it's all good being in the woods is better than being on the couch on my vacatiob
  19. The pines have tons of limbs I'm gunna go with a cheap ladder stand and see what happens! Won't be going up till next weekend! The apples are are very close to the house and it's only 7 or 8 trees two of them are pears!
  20. 12 does and fawns came Im about 10 min after legal Light it's like they know when the switch goes off
  21. Trying something new and out of the box this afternoon... There is no where to hang a stand by the apples here and the deer have been hitting them hard the past few afternoons i set up in the garage 25 yards away. Using shadows and the ranger to keep me hidden if something comes I'll draw re position then shoot I hope it works
  22. . Had a very short sit this morning going to hunt noon to dark! Found this on my way in! Sort of a natural blind 15 yards away going to sit here a bit, then maybe run a drag to my stand later
