That's insane! I'm thinking about just bow hunting there. If I caught someone steeling my deer things would get very ugly! I mean I wouldn't hurt anyone but how dumb can people be to steal from someone they know is armed lol
So I went to check this place out for the first time today. Looking for something new this year getting sick of sterling. I actually saw tons of sign in a few spots and was told by park staff that if I do her a deer they will open the gate to the park road and allow me to drive in and get it. Any way has anyone ever hunted this park?
Yes you can turn the nock, I have personally found instead of gluing the nock. Put a small piece of tissue on the end insert in around peel of excess tissue. It makes sure the nock stays firm in place but doe not ruin the arrow if you wanted to change to a luminock or something like that
I agree about the ridge lines and funnels creating wind traps, but what about parks that have smaller mountains, does anyone actually climb to higher elevations to hunt.
I know a lot of people here hunt state parks many of which have different levels of elevation within the park, for me personally I like to hunt the low lying areas during bow season. I then move up into the hills to try and hit pinch points once the orange army comes out. How does everyone here feel about hunting the different elevations and where do you find you have the most success. During rifle season I also find hunting from the ground on a steep ridge gives me a great vantage point without having to hike in my climber.
Unfortunately for me October 1 is a huge day for me at work and I can not take off, I'm thinking about taking off the 3 rd and hunting the whole weekend! Now to figure out where I want to start my season, 3s,3n,3j, decisions decisions
