Sterling would be a good place to start. A park pass can be obtained for $5 its about a 45 min drive from white plains Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Have you tried sterling, Stewart, bashakill, minawaksa? Those allow rifle as well. I could meet you at sterling on day and show you at least a good access point. One that was shown to me by a old member… the guy obsessed with morning doves for the old timers here. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sorry for your loss. I hope you have a good week out there Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Rockland has no public land that one can access without going through private land. I know because I hunt here. 90% of rockland is also now only due to town Ordinance… ask Biz about Putnam Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Doing any tracking this week ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
To some extent you have a point but you miss one major thing here. They started at two completely different benchmarks. One from zero. One with much higher levels of community spread left by his predecessor. I won’t join this rabbit hole of a discussion again but I will say it’s pretty sad you almost never comment on hunting anymore and seem to live in the political section. It’s very sad to see people I know have become radicalized to the point they no longer participate in every day normal discussions Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Not necessarily true… the inside of the hinds could depending on how the deer was dressed. Also I know People that put the meat from between the ribs in their grind Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Really I’m shocked you didn’t notice a difference. I found it to be much smoother and actually more along the lines of ground beef. Do you think it’s because of all the other ingredients in the mixture ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
-
This is very simple… meat is not porous. If you cook the outside of the meat any bacteria that was there is now gone.. No gut shot meat is bad as long as it is being cooked. I would just be careful about what goes in the grinder since most people don’t eat burger well done Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sounds like bad parenting Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I too apply to the bottom or side of my boots. I don’t think it attracts as much as the deer seem to be less spooky Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

No it must be gutted before bringing I had not used one in years but I got lazy and found one that does a great job Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
My one question to this and not denying you are the expert but I’ve always recovered a one lung and gut shot deer pretty quickly. For a shot to hit a lung and also guts it would have to cut the diaphragm. Wouldn’t this kill pretty quickly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’m with you about shooting the guns we own. I only have one gun I haven’t fired and I planned on it till the day it showed up. It’s my 3rd m1 and it’s a Winchester service grade from the CMP. Beautiful rifle that was last serviced at letterkenny arsenal and looks to be untouched since the day it left there. Other than that all my “show piece” guns still get shot just with some care Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If you could buy any gun what would it be… not for hunting but just to have. I would either buy a M1d wwii sniper rifle or a custom built 338 lapua Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
