  1. I didn't read ALL 23 pages of this thread.... My thoughts on B.O are the same most... I'll wear it... regardless if its mandatory or not.... during gun season... I'm not to keen on it for bow... you do still stick out quite a bit even if they can't see the color (well) the movement has muck more emphasis. On Another note, I don't live in NY yet (couple more months before I get in) But I am looking into buying a nice little chunk (10-12acres)... after all the reading of this post and see a few clips about accidents. most notably one from Arkansas about a mother and daughter horse back riding a trail in the woods.. the mother was shot by a hunter... she wasn't waring orange ... I agree to an extent with the hunters.. If you are going to be in the woods during hunting season... wear orange. My fear now is...I have 5 kids 2 dogs (yes a hell of a handful)..... I don't want to force my kids to wear orange if they are playing in the yard around the house or walking down the road etc... but I just might... if it will give them less of a chance of being mistaken as for those that don't a pay attention to posted warnning signs ... watch out
  2. "Sports have seasons. Does hunting have a season? Yes, just about the time my husband disappears, I know its hunting season." I'm sure most wives can relate!!!
  3. The add security at the airports is fine.... I think the gov't is letting TSA go a liitle too far and giving them too much control and its getting ridiculous!
  4. Here in Fl it's open season year round on 'em no limits! From what I gather its been like that for years. I personally never seen em but I have seen the damage that even small groups cause! I was looking at the DEC's web site and didn't see anything about hogs.
  5. I miss it... just a little... Got to invest in winter gear for my kids! My oldest 2 remember the snow a little.... my youngest (especially my FL cracker) Have no idea what they are in for! I also need to get a car starter installed before I come up there... there s no way I will get into a freezing cold car!! as for shoveling..... I wont be doing much of that.... its what the kids are for! haha!! ;D
  6. Well, I meant antiquated in the sense that many compound bowhunters change bows more than I change socks! I love it! You are what archery should be all about! It should be a primitive weapon and these high tech gizmos bowhunters are using today are a LONG way from being primitive. Heck, my bolt-action rifle is more primitive than some of these modern compound bows. I am a techno-junky but I'm not interested in using the latest and greatest (even if I could afford it ) I have enough to worry about without having to learn and master computerized gear. I prefer tried and true equipment. and skill... which as of right now I have less skill then any of your left pinkies.... but that will change. That is a nice bow BTW
  7. were going to be in greece. I'll also be in the buffalo/ Niagara falls area as well as forestville quite a bit.
  8. Hi All, My name is Jason. Im new to the site and to hunting in general. I've never been hunting before. and want to get started. I am mostly interested in bow hunting. I moved from WNY to the west coast of Fl about 9 years ago (I love the gulf and the fishing!) but recent events are bringing me back home. unfortunately I'll miss this season but at least I'll have a year to get myself ready! Any tips on gear or groups, clubs etc... etc... Thanks for reading.....
