LIVE From The Woods 2020 - Let's hear stories and see some pictures!

Fifteen does today including the three that hang out in my yard at the end of the day. To be fair, some of these may be the same deer. Bow season: I use scent free soap, hang my clothes outside and sneak in before light. Eight sits, no deer. Rifle opener: I don’t shower for two days, throw on whatever clothes I have and crunch my way in. Covered in deer. Considering opening up a petting zoo. -

In stand and at the first minute of legal light, four does walk by at 20 yards. Of course. -

TWSS? Called it for the morning. Am now naked on my back deck waiting for the deer to show up. -

Woke up sweating. In my dream, Ilsa, She Wolf of the SS, had me chained in her dungeon as she flogged me and made me beg for more. Shades of things to come? -

Drove from my camp to my rental. Passed six does crossing the street and just in front of my place, an 8 point sniffing up four does. At this point, I’m only seeing deer while naked or wrapped in my car. If I could figure out how to cover my stand in sheet metal, I’d could probably doff my clothes for short stints and be golden. -

I couldn't stand the cold any longer so I walked back to my cabin, stripped off all my gear, looked out the kitchen window and watched a doe walk across my yard. -

Checked a camera at my ground blind yesterday and bumped four does right beside it. On the camera I saw multiple does, a few small bucks and the biggest buck I’ve ever seen in my property. I could only get back at 11:00 today and bumped another doe 10 yards from the blind. Have been sitting here for 3 1/2 hours and nothing. -

I do everything myself which is why it takes so long and is usually wrong. In this case, I am using some advice from the Catskill Forestry Association. -

I’m also in Delaware County - Bovina area. I have grouse on my property but finding a good population is tough. I’ve been cutting down sections of forest to create habitat. In fact, tomorrow I’m going to knock down five large poplars to force them to produce new shoots in the spring. I use a friend’s Wirehaired Pointing Griffin. Have another pal with two GSPs who are currently hunting in South Dakota. What kind of dog do you have? -
I started reading and pictured this:

@Versatile_Hunter I saw another post that you upland hunt. I want to get into grouse more but they are hard to find with any consistency around me. Where do you hunt? -
Picked up a couple of fleece pieces from this New Zealand company due to a lot of positive reviews on rokslide. https://www.swazi.co.nz/ Overall impressed with "The Hood". Thick, soft fleece. Wore it upland hunting yesterday and it was very warm. I like the extra length in the body and the deep zipper making it easy to get in and off. I wish the collar was tighter (personal preference) and there was a way to open the cuffs for venting. $80 NZD = $55 USD and an extra 20% during a recent sale. Shipping was reasonable and very fast.
