  1. I agree. Sept 30 is too close to the Oct 1st opener. Best if earlier.
  2. The real challenge is to be able to be stealthy enough to have the guy and his son come right under without them detecting you and then you can "add them into the conversation".
  3. This was a double lung shot with the 17HMR V-Max I took Sunday afternoon. I guess I'll have to switch to a FMJ round if I'm going to use the 17 HMR on squirrels because the V-Max completely ruined the squirrel.
  4. YOU CANNOT. When it comes to hunting laws, airguns are considered a firearm.
  5. What do you guys think? Problem is that's only 675 fps at a 70 pound draw while other sites report 625 at 70 pound draw. I'm not sure if I want to plink at 70 pounds. If this thing can generate 600+ fps to make it legal at around 50-60 pounds, it would be awesome. http://www.bowhunting.com/videos/bowhunting-gear-reviews/the-22-pellet-airow-gun-bow-attachment_1706
  6. Yes. Must be 600 FPS. Airguns are considered firearms so still banned in areas that don't allow any firearms. I don't see too many reds but chipmunks are everywhere. They're like mosquitoes. I shot a squirrel last year out of a tree with a shotgun. After it fell to the ground and I was walking towards it to pick it up, a chipmunk ran up to the dead squirrel, jumped on top of it, stared at me for a split second as if he was saying "this is my squirrel" but then he realized I had a gun and then ran off.
  7. plinker331, Thanks for the range advice. Yeah, I'm definitely going to resight my 22 for 25 yards. If it zeros back again at 50 then that's perfect. I don't see myself ever shooting out beyond 50 yards anyway. I bought the 93R17 TRR-SR last year. I really want to give that rifle a spin. I'll post the results.
  8. plinker331, What does the 17HMR do to a squirrel? I picked up one last year but haven't shot anything with it yet.
  9. I had Lasiks done. One of the best decisions I've ever made in my life.
  10. When you're on a tree stand and #1 calls. Should I just go off the side of the tree or should I go in a bottle?
  11. Welcome aboard. I didn't grow up in a hunting family either but it's never too late to learn.
  12. Will do. I'm heading up there this weekend. Just don't know if it'll be Sat or Sun. We'll hit the 3D course.
  13. Let's ban TV because it's unhealthy to sit there and watch 12 straight hours a reality TV. Let's ban high heel shoes because it gives woman bunions. Let's ban shopping carts because teenagers and strapping them to car and taking them on joyrides. Let's ban guns because some people have used them for the wrong reasons.
  14. It's not the goverment so much as a degradation of personal accountability. Muslim women have to wear a hijab (the robe covering) because by Islamic law, men can not control themselves so it is the fault of the woman for presenting temptation. Let's change the words a little. Business cannot serve sugary drinks over 20 ozs because by Bloomberg's law, people cannot control themselves so it is the fault of businesses to present temptation.
  15. First they came for the socialists, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a socialist. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak for me.
  16. Just a side note. I've never heard of an innocent kid being killed by a driver who had one too many sodas that night.
  17. Beer is safe only because people faught for that right. The soda ban shares some similarities the prohibition. Only difference is the attitude of fighting for ones rights isn't what it use to be apparently.
  18. It's not about if I'll be okay. It's about why I'm being force to do something because others won't.
  19. Wait...because they can't make smart decisions for themselves and have no will power means than someone like me who watches his diet, works out regularly now has to miss another inning at the baseball game to return to the concession line that's even longer now, and spend $12 (for two 16 oz drinks which is really 10 if you take out the ice) instead of spending $8 for one big gulp. Really?
  20. Slaughterhouses hand with head down because they slice the jugular and let most of the blood drain through there. The only part that isn't drain would be the section below the cut which would be the head and so unless you're in the practice of eating head cheese, then not much is wasted.
