  1. Looks like the arrow was too short and came off of the back of the rest. Either that or it blew up when he released it. Its always a good idea to make sure you twist your carbon arrows and listen for any crunching sounds. If you hear that, its time to throw that one away. Also, look for nicks or cracks.
  2. If you dont want them, Ill dispose of them for you. Ill PM you the shipping address.
  3. Well, if you ever do, Ill be one of the first in line for it.
  4. Thats not a lump of fat, its his brisket. It just looks like that because his neck is so thick. Younger bucks' necks are not as thick, so the brisket looks slightly different. I remember those shed pics, the mass on that deer is insane.
  5. I buy the cheap batteries from the Dollar store. I have had the same set in my D cell cam since I put it out a couple of months ago. When I pulled it a week ago, the battery level was at 73%, still usable, but I normally take my cams out when the season starts, so Ill change the batteries before I use it after season is over or when I dump the bones, etc from a processed deer out back.
  6. Congrats to her! BTW, isnt her backtag supposed to be on her back?
  7. Do some searches for Deer Processing on Youtube, bunch of great videos there.
  8. Welcome to the site and congrats
  9. Really? You think that keeping hunters out of the woods is the solution to the problems we face as hunters today? Honestly, the attitude you are showing here IS whats wrong with hunting today, and will do nothing other than to cause our problems to get worse. If you cant take a good look at things and figure that out, well I feel bad for you.
  10. Look at Northern Tool. I just saw a 1/2 horse on there for $110
  11. Look on the inside corners of the fields. Alot of the times deer will cut across these. Check for heavily worn trails in and near those corners. Also, if you have a small strip of cover where the corners of two tracts of woods meet up, theres a good chance that is a funnel area. Creek beds, etc can all be funnels too. Look at a good topo map of the area, if you can get aerial photos with a topo overlay, even better. You will start to see the spots to look at more closely on the ground. The DEC has a great interactive mapping tool that can give you topo, aerials, etc. You can find that here... http://www.dec.ny.go...door/45415.html
  12. Alot of the time those deer either get taken by the person that hit it or the DEC removes the head so there are no issues with people grabbing it. Cabin, did you grab the tarsals off that guy?
  13. Looks to me like they got tangled up in some type of rope.
  14. Yeah, I guess I just think simple is better.
  15. Saweeeet! You guys thinking of putting a DVD together yet?
  16. BTW, just think of how gross a body shot really is. You are basically drinking booze out of someones belly button, and if you are in a dance club, the girl is sometimes sweaty from dancing, then back in the day they wore glitter and spray tan and makeup all mixed in. WTF was wrong with me? Oh wait, what am I thinking, nothing at all wrong with that.
  17. Ive only done body shots off of hot girls, I woulndt know how they are off of fat ones.
  18. If they get what they want, crossbows will become legal in 2013 for all seasons. That means it will stay the same (during regular season and late ML) this season and next.
  19. But thats what I dont understand. If guys have the tags in their pockets, how is the DEC going to enforce not using them in select areas each year, but still allow them to be used in the rest of the state. Personally, I think it would be less confusing to get rid of the either sex tags and go to a DMP policy for all seasons, not just regular season. As you can see from many post on this site, so many guys have trouble grasping the current regulations, why make them more complicated?
  20. I was looking at what they were saying in Appendix 3. I still have to read the whole thing through. Thanks for the clarification.
  21. If you read through the plan a little more, it actually sounds to me like they would like to expand AR to the entire state. Not sure that I like that, even though it wouldnt really affect me.
