Trio of fully mature NY bucks...
WNY Bowhunter replied to WNY Bowhunter's topic in Trail Camera Pictures
We've got lots of potential to grow some whopper bucks in WNY...no doubt. -
Three local Steuben County bruisers...several years of history with these deer...all 3 are 5.5 - 6.5 years old. 2013: 2012: A friend of mine has been watching these two for the past 3 years... 2013: 2013: 2012:

I'll try...no promises on completing that task though.

Couple of really good 2.5 year olds... "Wannabe": 2012: "Loppy': 2012:

I don't recognize this buck but he appears to have some potential...

My pics are still showing some seriously bulbed up tines/beams yet too. Hopefully, they can finish up strong over the next couple of weeks!!!

I've been quiet on here lately...but have been seeing some good bucks around my area. So far, I've got pics of some good up and comers and a nice 4 year old. I finally located another 4 year old that I call LFN. He's my top hitlist buck for this year and I will get a Covert Black 60 set up for him this weekend!!!
-
He should be a good one.
-
I think is was around 10" or so...
-
I sure hope he passed on his multi-bearded genes. I hunt several neighboring properties and would love to kill one of his sons!!!
-
Unbelievably, he killed another triple bearded bird in the same spot last season too!!! Maybe they were brothers???
-
Just thought I'd share pics of this awesome gobbler that my uncle killed yesterday. He never gobbled on the roost but came running out onto the field to pick a fight with B-Mobile. Not a bad bird to tag out with on the final day of the 2013 season. The stats: 19 lbs, 1 1/4" spurs and 28" of beard (10, 9 5/8, 8 3/8).

whate everyone do after spring turkey season?
WNY Bowhunter replied to TeeBugg's topic in Turkey Hunting
IT'S TRAILCAM SEASON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
Nope. Actually, this is the first season that I have ever seriously used groundblinds as part of my turkey hunting tactics (mostly when it comes to chasing those pain-in-the-butt field gobblers). I didn't take either of my birds from a blind but was in on 3 successful hunts where we killed birds from one. They work...but I like to be set up with my back against a treetrunk a lot better.
-
Yep. They haven't been coming out into field in the mornings, but today the hens decided to go that way and got their boyfriend jellyheaded...
-
UPDATE: I made a phone call to my uncle last night who has been hunting these birds telling him where they were. They gobbled like crazy on the roost and came out right where they were supposed to and he laid the hammer down on the strutter from the above pics...
-
They're not done yet. These 3 longbeards were putting on a show tonight for 4 hens and 3 jakes out in this field...
-
Way to stick it out and get 'er done...congrats!!!

My dad has a Nikon Turkey Pro scope on his 11-87 Supermag. This is his first season using a scope and he loves it.

I'd be totally against it. The month of May has always meant one thing to me for as long as I can remember...TURKEY SEASON!!! IMHO, coyotes don't take as many adult turkeys as people often tend to believe. Nest predation and cold/wet spring conditions do FAR more damage to the turkey population.
