  1. His sheds (4 years worth) have all been found within a couple hundred yards from a busy state highway.
  2. Just put my cameras back out to get a post season buck inventory. I am really hoping that LFN and a few other upandcomers are still alive.
  3. Here's a little update to this old brute...2013 version. http://huntingny.com/forums/topic/13878-my-2012-13-shed-journal/page-3 He's gotta be at least 8 years old now!!! Hopefully, I can grab these sheds in a few weeks...
  4. Find out where the deer (more specifically bucks) are feeding during shedding time. A vast majority of my sheds are found in hay/clover/alfalfa fields. My favorite time to look is in mid-late January when all of the fresh feeding activity sign is layed out in the snow...
  5. Nope...found her floating down the creek practically in my yard. I called the DEC and explained the situation and they said it was okay to keep it. The meat was not edible as the carcass was a solid block of ice.
  6. Here's one that I found dead in late December or 2009... http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b284/WNYBowhunter/Sheds%20and%20Deads/006ff.jpg/img]
  7. Few more pics...grossed scored 161 even with the broken tine,
  8. I wasn't there either...but the younger guys father (uncle's cousin) was there too...I don't know what criteria was used to determine who tagged the deer...but it certainly is a crappy situation for both hunters involved.
  9. Yep...the G4 on the left side was broken. Nearly all of the tines were chipped on last years sheds.
  10. Occasionally we do...when they live long enough to get big.
  11. That sucks. He was an awesome looking buck...
  12. Well, he's off to the taxidermist...never got to put the tape to him.
  13. He only dressed 165#, his body was really short...
  14. I don't know what the deciding factor was but my uncle's tag went on the deer.
  15. Funny you mention that...both my uncle and my buddy in the pic fired at the same time...one bullet hit him in the spine and the other in the heart.
  16. Haven't taped him yet. Sheds from the past three years...
  17. I did not kill him, my uncle did.
  18. Some of you will remember this pic. from last year of a buck I called Big Boy... Well, he ran out of luck today @ 6.5 years old... Yours truly holding a true Steuben County legend...
  19. Deer #2 and #3 are from the same property, but the first one is from somewhere else...
  20. I'm hoping I can get my hands on updated pics of "Big Boy"...
  21. I'm not giving away anything really. All I'm saying is that they are from Steuben County which is nearly 1400 square miles in area!!!
