You know right in most NY state regulation manuals that they publish that they give out each year there is usually a picture of a hunter with a buck in it a lot of times on the front or back page . I don't think I ever seen one with a picture of a hunter posing with his prize spike or a doe in it .

No the second one would have to be even bigger or I would pass , let someone else have a chance at it .

What you are saying is partially true , but the guys that really just want the big ass trophy Those find themselves on those game farms . Let me clarify what I mean I think people hunt because they like to hunt . I brought up cost only to prove that point .

I think you are confusing me with FSW He said it's all about the big trophys I said it is all about the hunting first and probably the trophy second then the meat . Just my opinion I can't read peoples minds . Just from observation When I go hunt talk to other hunters that I see in the woods ask if they saw anything 10 out of 10 times that I can remember. Doe and spike are always mentioned in disdain. As in o I only saw a doe and a small buck so I let them pass . So much for wanting just meat I guess . And then there is the guy with the 10 point buck story lots of them you here .

That is the point I was kinda of trying to make it's about the hunting part first . It's just fun to HUNT!!!

No conclusion my point is only that more then likely most spent more time and money on hunting gear then the meat is actually worth if you just bought it in a store . Let me ask you this did you process that deer by yourself or did you pay someone to do it ? Just another expense see what I mean .

It all depends on where and how you hunt , But I would be willing to bet most guys are putting in more time and money into hunting Then the cost of that meat if you just bought it in the store . So to say it's just about (meat) I find disingenuous to say the least.

Ground beef at mid-level-priced grocery stores costs about $4.59 per pound He probably has over $1000 in bow and gear . Much cheeper to buy it in the store.
