  1. The M1 Carbine fires a 110 gr FMJ bullet. Not a lot of tissue damage from that. Unless the central nervous system, heart or major arteries near the heart were punctured, it could take several seconds, perhaps a minute for the combatant to go down. He could do a lot of damage in that time. Imagine how far a deer would run when hit with that FMJ bullet through the back of the lungs or liver.
  2. A Garand fores a 30-06 cartridge, the M-60 7.62 NATO which is a lower pressure version of the 308 Win. Aside from rate of fire, the Garrand has more energy and more range than the M60
  3. It just about had to be a dead calm day as the 110 gr projectile for the M1 Carbine has a horrible BC (.170) and is affected a lot more by wind than either the 7.62 (.462) or 5.56 (.272) match bullets.
  4. Seems that you are mistaken about the extent if Vortex's warranty. A snip from the Vortex warranty page. The VIP Warranty does not cover loss, theft, deliberate damage or cosmetic damage that does not hinder the performance of the product.
  5. Vortex does not cover intentional abuse. I would doubt that any optics manufacturer would. A snip from the Vortex warranty page. The VIP Warranty does not cover loss, theft, deliberate damage or cosmetic damage that does not hinder the performance of the product.
  6. In typical form you want to twist words when the black and white in front of your face makes you out to be some sort of dullard that can't understand a simple statement. "Nobody has a better warranty." How is that BS?
  7. And the climate denying scientists hired by the Koch brothers and other fossil fuel industry interests don't cherry pick, manipulate and corrupt data to push their agenda?
  8. Perhaps a better question for you is how was that information found without science?
  9. The Japanese and the Germans have led in optics quality for many decades . Even on the WW II era the quality of German optics was legendary. One only has to loom at the highest quality cameras to see that the Japanese are also world leaders in optics.
  10. Leupold is indeed German heritage, thus the LOOPOLD pronunciation.. The optical glass is purchased from Japan but everything else is made in the USA. Nobody has a better warranty.
  11. According to your own post, the lowest consensus of publishing scientists is 84% and many are very near or at 97%.
  12. It wasn't an absolute statement. That's why I qualified it with "kinda"". And it worked as far as eliciting some responses.
  13. With the exception of the Japanese glass, Leupold scopes are made in the USA. There hasn't been an american manufacturer of quality optical glass in the USA in decades. And Japanese labor costs are higher than those in the USa so it's not cutting any Americans out a job due to slave wages. http://www.reloaderaddict.com/best-american-made-scopes-usa-rifle-optic-review/
  14. I support Japanese and Europeans makes because they support high wages, union wages in many instances. Most of the attractively priced Vortex's are made in the Philippines or China.. Those support slave wages.
