    Back out after giving the property an 8 day rest. Tried the southern tier this weekend. Lots of does moving, nothing in range never heard a single shot.

    It may be that reg. Season opened this weekend and not the weekend before Thanksgiving. I have a friend who works at Bass Pro and he said that tons of guys were coming in on Friday to get licenses and supplies because they didn't realize that the season opened on Saturday.

    Back in the stand for the afternoon with my lucky charm. Let's see some deer!!

    First deer taken off the new property. Double lung and severed the windpipe. Dropped right where it was standing. Taking my son out tonight to see if we can punch a doe tag.

    Snow covered and crunchy here in 8f. I've heard about 30 shots already. I'm not sure if there are any deer left alive in these woods.

    I guess legal sunrise started early here today in 8f. Never fails, that's why I wear some orange even on my own property.

    I feel like a kid on Christmas eve. Checking for deer tracks in the snow. Had a nice 6 point walk through the back yard earlier. Tomorrow mornings wind has made me change my morning plans on which stand to sit at but 17 degrees @ 7am has me motivated.

    I am jealous of those who got to go out this morning. I'm live from the office all week.

    Absolutely, wind and snow get them up and moving. If you look back in the thread to a few weekends ago when we had the high winds, it seemed like everyone got a deer.

    Had 4 deer come in this evening. 2 doe with their fawns. Maybe with the storm coming in they will be more active tomorrow. Still no sign of the rut.

    That's better than going out with a gun you haven't checked. I just wish they did it at mid day instead of 4pm. But they probably needed to let off some steam after watching the Bill's lose again!!! Go Pats!!!

    So I guess 4pm is the time all of my neighbors decided to site in their guns!! Either that or their hosting a civil war reenactment.

    Saw 6 this morning on my "nature hike" fresh sign looks promising.

    I put my father in law in my normal stand and made a big loop to come in from the back side of the property. Jumped 2 on my way around and found some fresh sign on an old logging trail.

    2 doe came in and followed the same path as the one this morning. Just out of range. They wandered around for 15 minutes and walked out on the path I cleared to get to my stand.

    Didn't see a thing until 9:30-9:45. Had a buck chasing 2 doe about 100 yards out one doe broke off and walked up to about 40 yards. She walked a half circle around me then bleated and walk back towards where she came. I'll be back out this afternoon
