    Honestly I don't care that much about the moon but it has been unseasonably warm and it is raining. The temps are dropping overnight and the rain is supposed to end around sunrise. I agree with the deer movement. I have a field behind the house and the deer come out later and stay longer into the night during full(er) moons. Hopefully the cloud cover and rain will get them tucked into bed early.

    Crappy, It's literally called the Hunter's Moon!! and there is going to be a 15* temp drop. The hunting gods decree that we hunt on that day. I for one will be using PTO tomorrow to get out for the first time this season.

    Last weekend found this rub directly under one of my stands. need to get a trail cam set up this weekend to see who's girdling my trees.

    Went deep into the thick stuff for an afternoon sit. Two fat doe came out at 3:45. Hell of a time tracking it and even worse getting her out, but she's hanging in the barn now. Time for a shower and some dinner.

    Only have time for a short sit this morning then I'll be pulling dad duty and be living vicariously through the rest of you. Let's hope this colder weather gets them up and moving.

    Very quiet in 8F. Heard a few shots Early but nothing for a while.

    Be sure to put that in a safe place. They are very unstable and could randomly go off.

    Didn't see a thing all morning, heard some shots the first hour and then nothing. Heading back out for the afternoon. My buddy and his old lady scored early with theses beasts.

    I love it when my neighbors decide to site in their shotguns at 3:55 the day before the gun opener.

    66 degrees, not exactly what I would call the best deer weather but I'm in for one last sit with the bow before D-day.

    I just raced back from Maine. I heard it was 30 degrees with snow!! No way i'm gonna miss the evening sit.

    In 8F it just started raining. Wind went from 5 to 30mph in just minutes.

    Ok, here's the story. A small buck came through around 7:30 right in front of me at about 50 yards, I was watching him walk off when this doe came crashing through the woods behind me. She stopped 20 yards from my stand and calmed down. She milled around until she was right under me, she stopped and dropped a deuce at the base of my tree and I wasn't going to let her disrespect me like that. She walked out to about 30 yards and turned broadside. Hit her a little high but caught the lungs. Good blood easy track. She only went about 60 yards.

    I had the same thing happen. Body aches, chills, fatigue, and chest congestion for 3 days. Started feeling better for a few then started to get a persistent cough that lasted for another week. The cough hung around a while and I was sleeping about 10-12 hours a night for 2 weeks.

    Not the biggest doe ever but this is the first archery deer in a long time and the first archery deer on my new property. Meat in the freezer!!!
