Get that Hemp/soybeans in...phewwwww!...dang deer flies chewed me to shreds......So new planting...small seed...like buck wheat...I disced...dragged seeded and dragged again....depth was to be 11/2 to 2in...hope it is right....I go over it tomorrow with the Milorganite....and hope for rain...unfortunately I over estimated on seed and have a lot left over...thought that would happen so only inoculated just what I used..or I under seeded...but I don't think so because I disced in sunflower seed before the first drag..hhmmm wonder if it will hold over if stored right...I'll have to see...the soybeans are a Southern re seeding type..so maybe??

I'll be checking it often....wont be able to stop my self....the alfalfa is coming along slow but good...if too thin I'll just over seed in the fall....now to finish the garden...fencing...addition to chicken coop....fall plots and wood clearing.......eeehhhh gads

Geez, busy are we!! The deer fly are terrible this yr!! I was spraying my poison ivy patch in the back yard today and the suckers were swarming around me!! I went for my 2 mile walk this morning at 5:30 and killed about ten before I made it half a mile!! Good luck on the deer munchies hope everything comes up good, post some pics.

Thanks erussell....yep I always start too many projects and never finish them all...but...it just sets me up in a good position to finish them the following year...Mr B has a young man that just became unemployed....he wants to help him out with a job helping me....as he puts it your not 30 any more...Oh gee thanks for noticing...lol...Yet he just bought me a surprise....a Stihl mini might chain saw...So I can chunk up all the fire wood logs I've cut :lol: ...I'm hoping to have trail cams back out today or tomorrow...and yep I'll post pics of progression ...in case anyone else wants to try these two seeds...or not we'll see....

Yes you do...and the guy that I bought the Quail haven beans from ...also added 1 oz of other seed to the bags...so there may also be Kanaf and sweet sorghum in the mix...because I had left over seed that was inoculated I decided to forgo the upper alfalfa field...perhaps plant it in the fall and planted the area with the hemp/bean mix....that way I can experiment with cutting it ...because the hemp can grow in low PH soils...I'm planting the rest later in the goat pasture....If I ever get that bush hogged and sprayed...lol

I went down to see how the fields looked...it rained non stop from 11pm Monday until around 7pm Tuesday then went down to 48 last night.......Sunday/Monday planting and seed germination today in all of it...I know this because some of the seed was on top of the ground and the sprouts had grown enough to anchor them selfs in the soil....unfortunately...rodents and or birds found the sunflower seeds...many opened shells on top of ground...funny thing is the wet quail haven soybeans actually look like the slugs they are sharing the ground with ...and the birds have not touched them...the Milorganite is working...stinks kinda nasty there .....I experimented with spreading a sm. amount of seed over a newer clover plot and a lightly disced trail I planned on planting this fall...same thing seed germinated and has anchored it's self to the soil...fingers still crossed
