fasteddie
Veteran's I.D. card ----- what a crock ! I found out a couple months ago that some of the stores give a discount to Military Veterans and figured why not take advantage of it . I have a "Certificate of Service" that they honor at Lowe's in Webster but not Home Depot ( which I had mentioned before in another post ) . They will not honor that card at the Lowes in Macedon either . A " Veteran's I.D. Card " is necessary . After making several calls , I found out that the card is issued by County . I cannot go to Monroe County and obtain a card . It must be done in Wayne County . Well , Wayne County Veterans isn't doing that now and won't be until possibly September and they will do it in conjunction with the Wayne County Clerk . I guess they handle the I.D. card like pistol permits ------ by County . A lot of Red Tape !!!

fasteddie
Both Monroe County and Wayne County told me that I can only get it through Wayne County and it is not yet available to do and won't be until sometime in September . I just might call the Canandaigua office and see what they tell me . Thanks ...........
GreeneHunter
I would contact your County Veterans Service Officer whom is paid by the County to obtain Veterans benefits for the Veteran . They should go to bat for you somewhat more than a VA Rep (as far as I know) . The VA rep works for the VA and does not always pursue the benefits that each Veteran is due , there is no gain in doing so ! The county VSO is paid to gain more benefits for the Veteran as it will increase the Head County/Benefits for the County ...in my opinion ! Can Do Brothers ! fasteddie
It's not a major catastrophe as I may have made it sound . I am upset that it is done by County rather than going to any place else . The person I talked to was at the Wayne County Veteran's Service Agency in Lyons , NY .
MuzzyLoader
I live in Chemung Co. Eddie and got mine from the VA Hospital in Bath (Steuben Co). If you want one sooner, go to your nearest VA Clinic and make an appt.... I think they then give you one automatically. Good luck.
