Cappy
Hi New to the forum and looking to protect my camps (2) with trail cameras and was wondering if there was something which would not alert intruders with a flash and still be able to get shots at night? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Cappy
phade
SG550 mounted up high and angled downward. You could certainly go blackflash, but cost is still up there for the reliable units. PLus, the SG550 is pretty easy to hide and works well on video mode. People place them in birdhouses to watch homes, camps, etc.
fasteddie
IR cameras are good but most of them give off a Red Light that could give away the camera's location . If you set the camera up somewhat high and tip it down , it's hardly noticable .
Big Indian
I could offer a few useless opinions 1. a sign saying these premises under video survelliance 24/7 and a "dummy" camera w/ infra red lite , a friend has similar set up on his house. 2. a real security system w/ 4 cams $299 from Costco, got one for my house it's great and easy to use can be viewed from your phone, laptop and or TV and you can set up "alerts" when a camera detects motion. Worth the price ! If you want info on the cam system feel free to PM me
