I wouldn’t hunt down there for the same reason I stopped bow hunting. It’s not what it used to be. The last 10-15 years has really changed a once beautiful place.

Step in the right Direction to all Adults to hunt those Spring Gobblers on Long Island.
 

I’m in a group text and a lot of guys are excited about it. The main concern seems to be how it’s going to be conducted first come or a lottery like the shotgun season. I have no skin in the game but think the lottery system works.
I’ll add this your going to see some impressive birds they’ve had plenty of time to mature.

Likely a NYS record bird will come from there and the successful hunter will be covered in 10,000 ticks

I couldn't imagine sitting on the ground in LI Woods in May
