In my experiance this is the biggest reason for declining populations , since i started trapping coon heavy 4 years ago the population has risen significantly here.

If my property was more accessible and closer in the winter months, absolutely.  Maybe once the kids are a little older.  Most Jan through March it's snowshoe only.

I trap during bow  , dog proof traps for a weekend   can get half a dozen in a couple of days.

I started doing this as well.  The turkey population has taken a dive around here over the past couple years.  I suppose I should focus on possums as well.
