head color

for most of the year, the male turkey head is more of a dull red. in late winter the head becomes more brillantly colored with red, blue and white. as the turkey becomes more excited the head will become more white and the other colors are less visible. this color change can happen almost instantly as the gobbler gets more and more excited to breed. the more excited the more white till the head can become all white.(i have one mounted that is all white). hens (especially hens with beards) can have a touch of red in their head. as with gfdeputy2 they both will turn blood red with a load of #5s from my 1100. :drinks:
