I have had some decent success with Wildlife Research Institute golden estrus. I tried a buck bomb last year and did not have a good experience. A bunch of does approached from downwind. As they got closer to the buck bomb they started running in cirlces and darting in all directions - behavior that I have never seen before. I don't think that they winded me because I have seen the reaction that deer have when they wind me and it was nothing like this. Also, careful spraying the buck bomb. There is no way to avoid getting it on your hands and you then stink like doe reproductive fluids :)

have the deer lick it off my fingers lol... will keep that in mind... did you do a few sprays here and there or did you let the whole bottle spray out?

the buck bomb I had was like a spray paint nozzle but you twisted is so that it locked itself so that the entire can would empty. I guess you could do a few sprays but the directions say to let the entire can rip.

sounds like the one i have im reading it now says " 3. this bad boy can be sprayed in short bursts or the button can be locked down to release the magic potion( this takes approx 60 seconds)" the plan ive had for it is once im within 40 to 50 yards of my location spray a few sprays about 1 to 3 foot up on a tree every 5 to 10 feet and then on the tree i climb about 10 foot up to catch the wind real nice

Don't waste the money on buck bomb. I used it 2 years ago spending like$5 a can. The best reaction I had was a nice 6 point sniff and then piss on it and keep it moving. 98% of the deer I saw completely ignored it and tried it both ways giving little sprays and letting an entire can rip. I think calls work a lot better in the rut then lures

I have had good luck with doe in heat lures. Tink's 69, code blue, code red and a few others. But I think that you have to realize that for the most part you have a small window of opportunity with these scents. If a buck is horned up enough and without does, I think he will come into it. If a buck is with a hot doe or on a hot doe trail..forget it.

I've had good results with Special golden estrus and H.S. Scent wafers Buck in Rut scent. Last year I killed my 8 pt. under a scent dripper and mock scrape I had set up. I'll be using that tactic again this year. I used Active Scrape by Wildlife Research Institute in the scent drippers.

every year i tried something new.Only ONCE have i had a buck come to one and it was a spike. Its was to tinks 69.I wasted so much money on that crap through the years.I even bought Whitetail institutes Estrus and Pee and Buck pee.No luck.Maybe its just the woods i hunted but i think its just a waste of my money.I wan't to kill a doe and just use her pee and trasal glands this yr.I have the tarsal glands from the buck i shot last yr in my feezer still.Saving them for that special day.

I guess you could do a few sprays but the directions say to let the entire can rip.Don't know how u can justify letting the whole bottle out!!! Less is more!!! A deer would never in nature have that concentrated of a scent naturally in one area , especially with how keen a sense of smell they have, they would know something's up, either that or there's a gang of doe's in esterous roaming around.... A spray or two on your boots for the walk in and and spray or two on a branch or some leaves before u climb up and maybe a spray here n there throughout the hunt from the stand would be more than plenty! Deer dont just go around dumpin all this scent out concentrated like that...
