Scents

Hey Everyone.

I just wanted to start a tread about Buck Bombs. I love them and I really can't say why. I've used them with and without success. I can't say that the times I did have success was because of the Buck Bombs, however they didn't hurt. I love the aersol dispesning idea. We all know a deer relies on its sense of smell more than anything else. If this is the case, I don't see how they cannot smell this stuff. The only problem is the cost, they are rather expensive!!! I never had an issue with a can malfunctioning.

Please if interested or have experience let me know what you guys think or are thinking? I plan on hunting the rut from Nov. 6th-12th.

I will use Doe n' Estrous and Dominate Buck! Any and all opinions welcome.

Thanks,

Mike.

I rarely use scent except when decoying or if I am out of state and burning that ground is of no concern.

I have come to prefer the Northern Whitetail farm here in wNY. Commerical/Store scents are not worth it in my opinion.

Last year, I left my NWS bag on a chair unde my carport while packing to leave for Ohio. Totally forgot it that morning...bought a buck bomb and that thing stunk up my glove something fierce, ha. I like the idea of aerosol, but I'd prefer a local option rather than mass produced.

You may want to consider getting a cheap small spray bottle (like the size of a liptstick container) and use fresh local urine. I do that and spray it. You can get the same/similar aerosol effect, and not messy.

I have no problems with them as long as they are picked up when you leave. We have all kinds of weird things hanging around the woods. You know old drip-tubes and such. We probably don't need a bunch of old aerosol cans laying around too. You would not believe the crap that people drag in and leave behind .... lol.

over the years I have had good luck with doe in heat scents, during the rut. The first buck I ever took, with a bow, came right in to a scent canister of Tink's. Since then I have taken a few other bucks with Tink's, or a similar scent and I have had good luck getting bucks, that for one reason or another I didn't shoot, to come into it.

It wont work most of the time, but if there is a buck all hopped up, and alone he will come to it. The next few weeks I'll use Doe in heat or doe estrus. I just use 1 or 2 scent canisters in front of my stand. I don't put out a ton of it. This is what works for me in my area.
