rattling??

just wondering what some people think. is it to early to maybe throw a little ratting sewuence together to see it might draw something out of a bedding area?

i tried some rattling last weekend and didnt have any luck but i also havent rattled a buck in in a very long time

Rattled yesterday (10/27) and a young 3-pointer came saundering in. I was using a Montana Buck Decoy (first time I ever used a decoy) for 'realization'. Well that little dude saw the decoy and locked up immediately... then took off on a dead run.

I then put the decoy at the edge of a cut corn field later in the day. I tried rattling again and a 4-pointer answered. There was a LARGE buck looking my way, but never answered; he just kept his head down feeding.
