Daikon Radish Pics

They have most of the turnips gone and are hammering the radish...I planted WW in mine...they got use to being in them for that and then the freezes came...the tops are getting thinner and thinner and now the bulbs are getting yanked....this is the first year planting them...they will go in on other farrow land I'm opening up....

if it's like mine Paula....6-8 ins. of the bulb grows above ground and they snap them off while eating the tops...or gnaw them off to eat them

They pull the root out of the ground and chow it right down. They do stick out of the ground about 6 inch.Their are pieces laying all over. They drop the tops here and don't eat them as much right now . Deer haven't touched my turnips.I'll try to get some close pics of them in their mouths. Going to plant several more acres next year.

Where did you get the seed? Is it a blend from one of the food plot companies?

Welter Seed & Honey company. Wanted just radish with the option to blend my own. Another member led me to them, thanks grow.

Thanks splitg2. Finding out that after a series of hard freezes, they start to stink. Had the wind blowing towards me last night. Rotten cabbage smell. Seven deer came in. If one of the heavy weight doe would of came in at legal light, She'd be hanging, LOL.

my plot has had a funk to it ever since it matured. the frosts seem to mask the scent but once it thaws its pretty potent.

Got out and did about 4 hours of shed hunting. No sheds found but, it did give me a chance to check out the radish. They sure have taken a beating over the weeks, but the deer are still drawn to them. Enc. are a few pics.
