Blue Tongue Disease.

Buddy of mine just got back from a hunt in Illinois for deer. He said this disease is killing a mass quantity of deer out there. He heard numbers of 30% of the herd (no idea how true) but on the 160 acres they wee hunting there have been 30 deer that died from it.

First I have heard bout it. It is a virus trasmitted my insects and not trasmitted by the infected deer. Sounds like a terrible death from what I just read.

Seems most wide spread in drought years.

I seen an episode on Outdoor Channel about Milk River, they had footage of giant whitetail bucks walking around, spazzing out, going into the river and dying. It was pretty weird.

Wow sounds like a no win. Blue tounge is high in drought and EHV is high in wet springs.

Ive heard of it. Wasnt there a few cases in NJ or NY within the last 5 years or so?

Blue tongue ehd split hoof etc. Have been around forever. Theyll be here when were gone. Mother nature.
