Hello,

I just recently signed up and so far have loved this site, it's very helpful. I have been wanting to become a hunter for years but I always put the training course off because of college, etc. I almost didn't make it again this year as all the courses in Onondaga County as well as its surrounding counties were completely full (the ones that fit my schedule). I finally found open seats all the way in Ulster County at the Marbletown Sportsmen Club and drove all the way down there for a weekend just to receive my certificate.

So here I am mostly on my own looking for different public places to hunt. I have tried Happy Valley WMA, Deer Creek Marsh WMA, and Cicero Swamp WMA. I haven't seen one deer unless it was when I was driving back home...

I have all my tags obviously and two additional WMPs for 8F.

I have been a member of a local rod and gun club for a few years now, unfortunately it's not a hunting club with access to land.

I'm hoping to learn some things from everyone on this site and possibly even meet some of you!

God Bless!

-Patrick

Yup.. Pathfinders is a real good range. Its way affordable and provides a good amount of land to hunt. I don't think all that many guys hunt it after opening week. (plus you can get a cheap cold one after the hunt)

Welcome. I also wanted to becomes hunter while in college but then forgot about it after graduating due to work. Didn't remember until 12 years later when work slowed down and someone had to remind me of it. Now I dream about hunting every night. You'll be glad you joined.
