MACHINIST
I am to clumsy on my feet to still hunt so I either sit in stand or just pick a tree and set my chair up against it.What are your favorite late season spots to sit?EIther pine stand, open hardwood ridges, picked corn/beanfield or overgrown grass field.Tell me what you guys like late in the year and why. hunterman7956
I LIKE TRAILS OUT OF SWAMPS SEEMS SOME BIG DEER RUN THERE WHEN THE GUNS GO OFF. I STILL HUNT THERE DURING MUZZY IF I DIDNT GET A BIG ONE WITH GUN.
HuntOrBeHunted
I try and hunt food sources first since the deer are eating to put on winter fat. I love late hunts cause most of the green leaves and brush is dead or gone and I can read sign a lot better. Goodluck.
zoschag08
I try to find escape routes, especially in areas of heavy pressure. Near clear cuts, heads of hollows, swails along hillsides, and always away from easy access points. If you bust your a** to get in there before most people you'll be in a good position. If there isn't much pressure I look for hemlocks or laurel near food sources.
WNYBuckHunter
Food sources and the spots the spots that allow the deer to get away from pressure. I like to keep a couple of spots untouched during the majority of gun season, and save them for late ML season. Been working well for me the last few years. landtracdeerhunter
New food source this year, so it's ground sits, with no place for stands. We'll see how it goes. Looking for a first muzzleloader deer.
Suilleabhain
I head for heavy cover. They are pretty spooky by now and tend to the tight hemlocks where I hunt in 3A. That's where I'll be next weekend
