irish_redneck
sounds good I dropped an email to dec for a definitive answer , here's what I asked : Hello, I’m having a discussion with a friend regarding legal food plot practices. I seem to recall reading somewhere that a food plot, let’s say corn.. I perfectly legal in its standing state, however if you brush hog it down, now it is illegal and classified as bait. He says that just applies to waterfowl. I can’t seem to find the document I originally think I read, indicating that knocking it down without a full attempt to harvest was baiting. Can you answer this and provide me some references? Thank you very much, I'll post their response when I get it
WNYBuckHunter
Cool. Ill see if I cant dig up the answer to the email I sent to DEC asking the same thing last year.
Five Seasons
in for the answer. very interested. I can't see the difference between cut corn and soybean. Yes standing corn provides cover as it grows, but soybean doesn't and they're both growing. if the answer is "you can't hunt cut corn" the DEC has yet again gone off their rocker. irish_redneck
The use of corn was just for an example. I believe it included all crops just specifying that they shouldn't be manipulated after growth. No answer yet but I'll forward it when I do.
