With all the talk about mental illnesses causing people to shoot up schools, malls and theaters, this is an interesting article about an FBI profiler who voiced her opinion that this kid didn't just snap. He methodically planned out his attack.

Which shows that he would have done it with or without the guns.

There was a psychologist on GMA yesterday that said, sure, you can put gun bans and capacity limits in place, and that might reduce the body count, but it wont stop the mass shootings and killings. He went on to talk about how the media is the biggest problem, because they basically give these wackos a sense of purpose by researching their lives and coming up with reasons why they held whatever grudge they did. Basically taking the blame away from the killer in a way.

Ill see if I can find a link to the video of it.

It would seem, according to what I read about her observance, that mental illness was pretty much null and void. This kid knew exactly what he was doing, and planned it out over time. Some of the worst serial killers in history had no mental illness issues, which is why they got the death penalty instead of the insane asylum.

As a father of a son who is Fragile X Syndrome, I take offense to the broadness of the "mentally ill" blame game. He can't even conceive what day it is, let alone plan out an attack.

Years ago, at worked as a therapy aide at Harlem Valley Psychiatric Center (it is now closed). Were some of them violent? You better believe it! What they were unable to do, however, was formulate a well rounded plan, and, in fact, it was usually an outburst with no rhyme or reason, and, quite frankly, a well rounded plan wouldn't even come into play in their mind.

This guy was different, as I said a few days ago he wasn't mentally ill from what I gather. He was however very intelligent and most likely at genius level. His brain worked in ways most cannot fathom and obviously something in his brain broke and he essentially turned his intelligence towards an evil plan.

a lack of conscience.for what ever reason...born that way....or too much violent input at an early age ect...ect ...nothing to tell them this isn't right..

Oh the media...hhhmmmm I have to wonder...All this investigation. ...what will be drawn out to weeks.....Please tell me the point...

Gun owner ...dead

Shooter...... dead

Way too many victims lost

What more is there to investigate really...because any thing now ...is pointless speculation and media fodder

Those that don't learn from history is bound to repeat it.

There is still much to do to learn from this tragedy.
