Hey guys I am new to waterfowl hunting and I want to hunt Canadian geese in a week and I don't know where I can go on long island preferably Suffolk county to go and bag me my first goose.  Are they good eating?  Any cool recipes you guys got throw em my way if you don't mind I want to impress my family with a delicious goose dinner!  If any of you guys would like to show a new hunter how to hunt these beautiful birds I would pay for breakfast! Thanks again guys and good luck!

I have been on two guided goose hunts on LI but not in a bunch of years-I don't know how easy it is to access lands since our access came through the guide obviously- 1at time was great fun with lots of geese-2nd time the same guide was not bringing his A game from our standpoint-refused to relocate even when the birds were showing us their landing zone

They do tast like doo doo soak em in milk for a few days and then marinate the hell out of them good luck most that are around now are resident and I prob wouldn't eat em on Long Island been eating golf course fertilizer all summer!!

      We want to close our mute swan petition this month and ask for more people to help out by signing it and encouraging others to sign it. We will be launching a petition to legalize dove hunting in the near future and certainly hope the response is much better than we have had with the mute swan issue.
       
      For those of you  think we are a lone wolf in this hunt, read the first link below from Maryland DNR. This has been brewing in the Atlantic Flyway for some time, including a supreme court decision in our favor. However, in NY, the legislature sided with animal rights organizations over the DEC, FWS, Atlantic Flyway Council, Universities, and large conservation organizations. The second link below is to the petition. You can read the signatures and see if you know anyone. Rick McGovern and Tom P, from this site who run the Crossbow Coalition have signed it. Rick is also on our face book page, by the way. The president of the NY Trappers Association has signed, So have many others you all know. Please also sign and share right away.
