Grouse
The Biden administration recently announced a rule change for green card applicants. No longer will they be disqualified for receiving welfare assistance, including food stamps and Medicaid. The rule change reverses a Trump-era requirement that sought to deny legal status to an individual who would effectively be living off the government dole as a "public charge." The Biden administration eliminated the requirement that eligible immigrants must not have been a burden to the American taxpayer. In other words, concern over ensuring that a new immigrant would be a positive contributor to the nation rather than a user has been thrown out. The more people depend upon government programs, the better — that's the message the Biden administration is sending.
Grouse
And right on cue, the Congressional Budget Office released an updated review of the Democrats' recently passed and deceptively named Inflation Reduction Act and unsurprisingly determined that it would actually increase the deficit through 2026. So, far from reducing inflation, it would in fact add to it. Furthermore, one of the more controversial features of the legislation was the $80 billion to massively expand the IRS. The CBO has now also updated its estimate on the impact of a bigger and meaner IRS and has determined that the tax agency will wring an extra $60 billion out of taxpayers on top of the $80 billion that had been previously projected. Someone has to pay to support all of those illegals, as well as all the wasteful spending this administration is piling up.
ADK Native
Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot sparks fury after moving 64 migrants bus from Texas to GOP suburb https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/chicago-mayor-lori-lightfoot-sparks-fury-after-moving-64-migrants-bus-from-texas-to-gop-suburb/ar-AA11GRIa?ocid=mailsignout&pc=U591&cvid=b2af4afd98c64473b77df26f925bb526 The article states “Hours later, 64 of them were taken to a Hampton Inn hotel in Burr Ridge - 20 miles southwest from downtown - where they will be housed for at least the next 30 days.” Free hotel accommodations at the Hampton Inn for the next thirty days compliments of the taxpayers. How thoughtless of Mayer Lightfoot. Why did she not allow these people to be housed with those who support illegal immigrantion in Chicago? Grouse
Study Reveals New Illegal Immigrants Will Cost US $20.4 Billion; Trump’s Wall $16.4 Billion Fox News: The study by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) calculates the illegal immigrants who have entered the U.S. since Jan. 2021 will add an extra $20.4 billion burden a year, in addition to the $140 billion existing illegal immigrants already cost. The analysis is based on an estimated 1.3 million released into the U.S. by immigration officials, as well as approximately one million “gotaways” — or illegal immigrants who have slipped past overwhelmed agents. FAIR calculates that each illegal immigrants costs $9,232 a year to support. The U.S. has been in the midst of a massive border crisis since early 2021 (Fox News). Washington Examiner: For comparison, the added $20.4 billion annual bill is $4 billion more than the $16.4 billion the former Trump administration spent building and restoring hundreds of miles of the border wall (Washington Examiner).
ADK Native
After Republicans Escalate Migrant Busing Scheme, White House Condemns ‘Chaos” https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/after-republicans-escalate-migrant-busing-scheme-white-house-condemns-chaos/ar-AA11SuDv?ocid=mailsignout&pc=U591&cvid=b9ea0f87087541f2b811aee035ec43e5 The article states “The Biden White House on Thursday condemned Republican governors who this week escalated their strategy of busing -- and now flying -- migrants to Democratic cities in protest of the administration's border policies” Condemn? President Biden has done nothing along with Vice President Harris. So now Biden condemns the illegal aliens coming to his neighborhood? The article states “Jean-Pierre criticized the governors for appearing to give no notice to leaders on the ground.” Sorry Jean-Pierre, the illegal aliens do not give notice when illegally entering the United States of America. The have to go somewhere since Biden is not keeping them out of the United States of America. The article states “this is just a cruel premeditated political stunt," Jean-Pierre said.” No, what is cruel are those who are created and allowing this humanitarian crisis in the first place. Grouse
The Democrats are like people who invite their friends to come live with them, and then try to put them up in other people's homes. If that was done to any of us, I'm sure we would all send them to the homes of the people who enticed them to come here. That's not cruel or political. That's just fair. Grouse
More than 2 million illegals were stopped at the US-Mexico border during the past 11 months, with a record 2.3 million border encounters projected for the 2022 fiscal year, according to new figures from Customs and Border Protection. It marks the first time the figure has eclipsed the 2 million mark in a single fiscal year and represents an increase from the 1.7 million encounters for fiscal year 2021. The total is driven by a surge in illegal migration from Central and South America, with the number of illegal immigrants from Cuba, Nicaragua, and Venezuela up 175% from last year. In August, roughly one in five illegals had already been apprehended within the previous 12 months. Grouse
The Biden administration has pressed the mayor of El Paso, Texas, not to declare a state of emergency regarding the migrant crisis plaguing residents of the city. Members of El Paso's city council have called on Democrat Mayor Oscar Leeser to declare an emergency, as homeless shelters in the city have been overrun with thousands of illegal aliens. Thus far, Leeser has resisted doing so, and he recently revealed the reason why. As councilmember Claudia Rodriguez explained, "He told me the White House asked him not to." Texas Republican Representative Tony Gonzales responded, "It is a sleight of hand what the administration is doing, pressuring the local government to not issue a declaration of emergency, to say as if everything is going OK." He observed "the same thing in other parts of my district." Leeser dismissed any claim that he was taking orders from the White House, stating, "I make decisions based on current circumstances and in the best interest of the citizens of El Paso." Yet last month during a council meeting, Leeser appeared to validate Rodriguez's assertion when he argued against declaring a state of emergency: "The White House has asked, at this point, for us not to do that and they'll continue to work with us and continue to give us money through the Federal Emergency Management Agency." Once again, the Biden administration is peddling a false narrative regarding the border crisis that it created. The underhanded effort to control the narrative is aimed at deceiving the American public with midterm elections looming.
