always wanted one,.....

Was in the gun shop today, put an offer in on a Marlin 444 lever rifle.  I always wanted one.  Well he went for the offer and the gun is now in the safe.  Anyone ever use one?

Put a 2-7x Pentax on it.  Now if I can just find ammo for it I'll be in good shape.

Waited a long time to find one.  Wanted one since I was a kid.  I'd way this rifle is a 9 out of 10.

Had one many years ago and sold it many years ago and have been sorry ever since. It was one cool gun, just like a cannon.

I sure as hell didn't need another big game gun, but it has a certain quality. Still all of those fast handling pluses of the 35 and the 30/30, but its 44 Cal. Tried one at the range a while back that some guy was shooting. Wound up zeroing his scope for him. The recoil isn't that bad in the straight wall cartridges. No worse than an '06 sporter.
