eagle rider
Was in the gun shop today, put an offer in on a Marlin 444 lever rifle. I always wanted one. Well he went for the offer and the gun is now in the safe. Anyone ever use one? Edited October 20, 2013 by eagle rider

eagle rider
Put a 2-7x Pentax on it. Now if I can just find ammo for it I'll be in good shape.

sits in trees
Had one many years ago and sold it many years ago and have been sorry ever since. It was one cool gun, just like a cannon.

eagle rider
I sure as hell didn't need another big game gun, but it has a certain quality. Still all of those fast handling pluses of the 35 and the 30/30, but its 44 Cal. Tried one at the range a while back that some guy was shooting. Wound up zeroing his scope for him. The recoil isn't that bad in the straight wall cartridges. No worse than an '06 sporter.
